The hotel was situated on a beautiful, one-way street walkable to the Sannomiya station and the harbour. Check-in was relatively easy with a ticket/qr code from the counter and then the kiosk for the key cards - the same kiosk was used for returning the key cards and check out. The on-site Italian restaurant was popular among the locals but offered a 10% off discount for those staying at the hotel: service and food was great for the lunch buffet we had. The room we had for our family of 4 with small children was located on the top floor (16F): it was spacious, housing two large beds, a living space with a big writing desk and coffee table (for those eat-in meals) and had a mini fridge (with freezer) and microwave oven. The bathroom was equally spacious, with a well-appointed bathtub and two wash basins; toilet was separate at the entrance and also had its own wash basin. Lighting and its control was well designed and the curtain could block out lights fully. We used the coin-operated laundry located on the 10F - it was a washer and dryer combined; we did need additional drying for our large load of laundry but find it easy to not needing to time getting washed clothes out into a separate dryer. The "lobby" next to the reception was relaxing as we checked out and explored the city once more until after lunch time. The surroundings of the hotel was relaxing, safe and quiet: this is very different to what we anticipated, understanding the central location of this hotel previously. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel over any near the harbour or other touristy points as the surroundings of this hotel was so tranquil it felt surreal to be able to reach the walking shopping areas so easily.

“Lovely, lovely short stay! ”

Coming from Osaka by sea, it took us a good two hours to reach Kobe. So trains are faster and better, only about 1.5 hours. Coming from Osaka by sea, it took us a good two hours to reach Kobe. So trains are faster and better, only about 1.5 hours. From the Sannomiya station, it took us about 8-9 mins easy walk to find this imposing and new hotel. Check in at 2pm, we were assigned room 1607. Room was spacious with comfy Twin beds. Facing the back of the hotel and the mountains, room was quiet and windows could be opened slightly, allowing in fresh air! This is very important for sensitive nose sufferers like me and during the Covid pandemic. Amenities are all provided - sleeping pajamas with shirt and pants, toothbrushes & toothpaste, shaver, comb, coffee, tea, slippers, toiletries etc. Only thing lacking is a shower cap, which i brought along, lucky me! As we check in right after Christmas, ie on 26/12, our rate was really low and superb value! Regrettably, we stayed only one night and should have stayed at least two or three. Lobby is huge with tons of seating spaces, impressed! The attached restaurant is also big but did not see their advertised breakfasts rates? From this hotel, we walked to the waterfront and found a unique Atoa Aquarium - a site that is not cheap (2,400 yen) but not to be missed! The next day, we took the City Loop bus and visited the Kitanocho area. You can buy the 1 day or 2 days bus pass from the driver with unlimited hop on hop off opportunities. Buses are very frequent, 15 mins interval, so its very useful. You can buy a Museum pass for 3,000 yen which allows you access to 7 refurbished houses in the Kitanocho area, built from 100-130 years ago. The whole circuit would take close to 2 hours as we were told. So start early like 9.30 or 10am. This hilly area is also not to be missed while in Kobe! After a brief visit, walk downhill to Daimaru Dept Store and the Chinatown area for luch. A wonderful short stay but we will surely be back for a 2-3 nights stay again - guaranteed!

“Small room but location is near to shopping area”

Walking distance of around 5 minutes to Sanomiya station. Had to wait for a while to check in. Hotel is near to shopping area. Room is considered small but bathroom is relatively big. Bed is comfortable. Can get free amenities from the hotel lobby.

Our favorite hotel in the Kobe area! The location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to explore the city. We love the thoughtful amenities, including comfortable loungewear, Kobayashi fabric spray, and a variety of extra essentials available in the lobby. Plus, the pricing is very reasonable. Like most Japanese hotels, the rooms are on the smaller side, but the overall experience more than makes up for it!
