I stayed for two nights in a comfortable and spacious corner room with three windows and city views including glimpses of the Sakura River. It was well-furnished with a lounge, two chairs, table, big desk, fridge, and a small tv as well as the bed and bedside table. There was lots of storage space. Also a mysterious machine which turned out to be a trouser press! There was an electric jug with sencha and matcha teabags supplied. No safe. The lighting was pretty good. A nice long bath and plenty of bathroom bench space. Basic supplies like combs, razors etc were available in the lobby. It was good to find my wheelie, which I'd sent ahead, already in the room, and staff were obliging. The location was very convenient, close to the JR Station, and with many shops, and eateries in the vicinity. Sights within easy walking distance included historic Kodokan Samurai School, the castle (one extant gate and a number of reconstructions, just across from Kodokan) and various shrines. Kairokuen Garden was about a 2.5km walk, either through the city or along the river. Lake Senba and Senba Park are adjacent to the garden, and the Tokugawa Museum is about a 15 minute walk from there. I thought this hotel was very good value, and would be happy to stay again.

“Quiet town in Mito”

Stayed for 1 night, a nice hotel with basic necessities. Located along the street but nothing much nearby except a McDonald and convenience store across the street. Check-in was fast, rooms are small but clean. There are some racks near the reception area selling confectionery sweets.

The hotel is small but cozy and clean. It's along the street but is very quiet. It's an easy 5 minute walk from theJR Mito station, where dining and entertainment can also be found. The hotel is small but cozy and clean. It's along the street but is very quiet. It's an easy 5 minute walk from theJR Mito station, where dining and entertainment can also be found. Rooms are very clean with complete toiletries. The only inconvenience we had was not finding the toilet exhaust fan switch, but we did not bother asking anyway. The breakfast was basically Japanese and the menu was the same during the duration of our stay. There are also some rent-a-car within the vicinity. When I asked them whether there are English speaking staff, I was informed that normally, the front desk staff speak some English. I find reservation is more efficient through phone. Payment or cards were not asked until the check out. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

“Functional”

Just the one night while on business. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good hot water pressure. Breakfast very limited however. No real complaints. Few good bars around too such as the Drunken Duck which is close.

This hotel is convenient to the train station. If you depart the south entrance and look straight ahead you'll see the big neon sign on the hotel and you can walk right to it. My room was neat and clean, sheets were crisp. The pillows were a little small but that was OK. There was strange smell in the bathroom and at first the toilet was leaking. The room was also quiet during the evening.The front staff is friendly and the value for the room was excellent. A reasonable place to stay, clean room, and good value. That I can recommend.
