“Nice outdoor onsen and tasty Japanese breakfast”
We booked a western twin bedroom. The hotel is a bit old, but it is acceptable. As long as the room is clean and I slept well. I enjoyed the outdoor onsen very much. “Go for the Japanese room”
We booked a western room but on being shown to our room it was the worst room we'd seen in all of Japan - small, dated, horrible fittings, pink bathroom, stained carpet - everything just felt old and unpleasant. “Close to black sand and baths.”
Ok room. Great welcome. Very friendly staff. Hotel has a Hawaii 50s feel. City is run down. Worth the trip to get buried in lava sand! But Our room had uncomfortable beds. Japanese style tatami rooms look much bigger, cleaner & better value.
