“Resort type of hotel with great onsen an breakfast”
This is a resort type of hotel that was pretty busy with tour groups and families. The hotel is split into 2 buildings an the onsen is in one of them. “Charming Resort, Rather Remote and Caught in a Bit of a Time Warp”
The hotel is very well appointed, but somewhat dated: the rooms, huge by Japanese standards, feel trapped in the late 1960s/early 1970s. They are immaculately clean and well cared for. “Very nice hotel 30-40 years ago.”
Location is ok once you know the bus routes. We got ripped off by the taxi driver from Yumoto- Hakone station to the hotel, so be careful. The hotel was probably very nice 30-40 years ago. “Tired, but adequate”
This property has seen better days. It’s circa 1980 and is very dated, but it is very clean. Very few of the staff speak English, but they’re friendly.
