“Nice hotel,good location,nice stuff”

I staid there for three nights and everything was o.k..there was no problem to leave my suitcase early in the morning. The room was a bit small with no place to put my clothes. Breakfast was quit good. The hotel is located close to the train and bus stations

Firstly, I should point out that this is not a capsule hotel - it is of the regular variety - only smaller! Secondly - the staff were very friendly. I only interacted with them at check-in and check-out (5 day stay), and this was a pleasant experience. Sorry, but there are 2 negatives for this hotel in my view: 1. Rooms are smaller than any I have stayed in in Japan. Smaller room means less space for everything: VERY little hanging space - just 2 hooks on a wall. Cannot open a suitcase on the floor unless is is directly behind the door to the room, which is very impractical. I had to do a weird sideways shuffle to get between the bed and the chair at the desk (with both items separated as much as possible - and I am a skinny person). Desk space ( for laptop and chargers etc) is very limited - there is a lot of seemingly useless stuff on the desk, but nowhere to put it if you don't need it. The TV is GREAT, but about 12 inches too big for the room. This also leads to less room for my stuff. 2. No beer vending machine. I find this unusual in Japan. ALL other hotels in which I have stayed have a beer vending machine somewhere. The only concession I will give here is that there is a "7-11" store 2 doors up the street. Positives: 1. Free WIFI is excellent compared to Australia. 2. Location is excellent for access to Kyoto Station, shopping and restaurants, including "Porta" (under the station). 3. Bathroom is acceptable for Japanese standards. 4. Clean room/bathroom. 5. Despite only having 1 lift, had no trouble at all getting from Floor 7 to Floor 1 and back. 6. I didn't use it this visit, but there is a coffee joint in the lobby, which seems to be good for breakfast and coffee. 7. The hotel has an incentive-based room cleaning system: if you choose to have the minimal cleaning of your room, you are rewarded with a bottle of mineral water. To take advantage of this offer, you need to put the appropriate magnetic sign on the outside of your door before 11pm. 8. My room was quiet. 9. The air conditioning worked well for my purposes. 10. The bed was comfortable, and I slept very well. I have a lot of Positives in this review, which might make you believe that I should rate it higher than 3, but the big negative was the size of the room. So, overall, I think this hotel is probably best suited to single occupants, not anything higher.

Rooms are quite small even if you are traveling alone - I had to keep my clothes inside of my luggage’s due to limited space. Despite of that, location is good being near to Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower and some other smaller shrines. For most known landmarks it is necessary to grab a bus or train (it’s easy to use if you have Google Maps on your hands).

Seattle's Best in lobby has al a carte items plus you are surrounded by Family Mart, Lawson, 7-11 (next door), and a McDonald's around the corner. The location was superb. I'm glad I didn't order breakfast. Seattle's Best in lobby has al a carte items plus you are surrounded by Family Mart, Lawson, 7-11 (next door), and a McDonald's around the corner. An overwhelming number of food options are available at Kyoto Station and Yodabashi. 3 min walk to Kyoto Station buses, a few min more through the station to subway, JR train, Shinkasen. I was alone in what was hard to believe was a double (but it had two robes, two slippers, double bed) for 5 nights. Pillows are flat as described by others. There is almost no room to store your things and you'd struggle to access more than one suitcase or one suitcase larger than a carry on. No shelves, only two hooks and 4 hangers. There is a small desk but it is useless for sitting at as it is cluttered with ads and gadgets-- kettle, humidifier, tissue box, fabric refresher (some of which could be wall mounted). You will need the desk to store stuff. An air filter occupies additional limited floor space. Bathroom is tiny like a cruise ship but with good water pressure. There is a fridge but you have to turn it on when you want to use it and it makes a humming noise right by your head. The TV is absurdly large, as wide as the double bed. I was on a high floor but there was still lots of street noise. All of this was manageable for a few nights, however, until one or two guys moved into the room next door. I could easily hear voices at a normal speaking level through the wall and woke up at 4am to what I thought was an earthquake (the sound of a door knocking lightly) but later realized was someone having sex next door. Again, they were not being particularly loud but the walls are thin. AC works but you cannot change the temp from 25C. Wifi was good. Room was ok cleanliness. Lots of dust around fridge, on ledge above bed.
