I went to Kyoto during Gyon Matsuri, so I was glad to be able to get a room here with reasonable prices during the holiday period. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the Karasuma Oike station (probably closer than the Shiyakusho Mae station), and a bus stop nearby. It's close to some convenience stores and also a Fresco grocery store a few blocks away. There's also some restaurants nearby that you can choose from. Hotel staff were amazing, especially the cheerful elderly lady (sorry I forgot her name). I felt guilty for bothering one elderly staff because I used the common toilet at the lobby and instead of using the flush, I accidentally pushed the "help" button, and he rushed to me immediately. I just apologized. They did have a bit of a challenge during check out since there were a lot of people checking out at the same time. The housekeeping is done every 3 nights, and they kept my room clean during housekeeping day. Room is very nice, albeit a bit small, but it was very clean, same with the toilet and bath. They offer toiletries and robe at the lobby for you to get for free, along with some tea bags. You can opt for breakfast, which is served at the Matsuya restaurant at the ground floor. They also have a mini store at the lobby and a microwave to heat up your food. They have water refilling stations at every floor (I think) so you can refill your water bottles. Just a note though, check out is busy time, and sometimes the elevator can get very busy. Either you come down early, or if you have the patience to wait it out. They offer luggage storage at the lobby so you can check out and then come back later. I think this may be my new option when staying in Kyoto.

First of all, I’d like to highlight the excellent location of the hotel. It’s within walking distance to Gion, and from there it’s easy to continue exploring other attractions. There is also a metro line nearby, which makes getting around the city very convenient. The breakfasts were very tasty. Since I eat halal food, I was pleased to find a good and sufficient selection of suitable options. A special thank you to the reception staff they were very helpful :) and resolved any issues immediately. The only drawback was that at night there was occasionally a smell similar to gas. It appeared around five times during the night and then disappeared. Because of this, I had to sleep with the windows open. Overall, my stay was pleasant, and the hotel left a positive impression.

Near to two subway lines and walkable to many areas of central Kyoto. Clean rooms. But they only clean your room every 3rd day although towel exchange daily. Near to two subway lines and walkable to many areas of central Kyoto. Clean rooms. But they only clean your room every 3rd day although towel exchange daily. The lobby has a horrible scented fragrance which could easily be changed but maybe some people like it. We def didn’t like it. Two laundry machines in the lobby. Takes two hours to wash and dry although both loads we did required an additional 30 minutes of drying. Cost 500Y plus 100Y. Includes laundry soap automatically dispensed.
