I spent 3 nights in this ryokan, together with my teenage son. It was our first trip to Japan, so we wanted to experience the traditional Japanese accommodation. The room was exactly as promised, with tatami mats and low chairs and table, it also had tea making supplies, a safe, a bathroom and a separate toilet room. There were toiletries and towels available, as well as yukatas for us to wear, and slippers. We felt welcome and well taken care of, the staff was lovely and we immediately felt at ease. If you want to have a small taste of traditional Japanese way of life, this is definitely for you.

“Comfortable, easy transportation, good staffs”

I like this hotel. Very comfortable and easy to get a train. Staffs are nice and take a good care of our luggage and our stay. They have public bath which is very clean and feel good to use. They have drinks vending machine almost every floor.

We stayed with our family for 4 nights. Unfortunately the first night another guest(s) had chosen to ignore the nonsmoking policy which led to our room stinking of smoke. We stayed with our family for 4 nights. Unfortunately the first night another guest(s) had chosen to ignore the nonsmoking policy which led to our room stinking of smoke. The professional and courteous staff helped us to a new room which was even an upgrade! We very much appreciated how the issue was dealt with. In general the baths, pyjama’s, soft drinks in the lobby and very attentive staff make this place great. It is true though that the hotel itself is in need of some updating and the single glass can lead to chilly drafts in the rooms.

Excelent location, 5 minutes from JR Kyoto Station Tipical japanese hotel, with oriental and big rooms,tatami floors, and beds with futon, table with chairs on the tatami floor in the main room, and table with 2 chairs in a separate and private room We reserved a kaiseki meal (which is basicaly a traditional meal with the most fresh and fine ingredients of the day, carefully prepared, in a japanese ritual), to celebrate the birthday of my son. It was prepared and served in a separate and private room just for us , really an amazing show!!! Typical breakfast, small delicious japanese dishes, but if someone is looking for a western breakfust there will be no choices, because there's only japanese food, BUT if a person decide to be in a ryokan, it's because the person wants to have/live a unique experience, dream of a real japanese moment!
