“A great stay in Kyoto”

My son and I stayed at the Miru Kyoto Nishiki and think it was fabulous. We arrived early and they graciously allowed us to check in early. The hotel is well located and though the room was not large, it was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

The Miru Kyoto Nishiki is a small, quaint and elegant hotel. When checking in, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and spoke English and made us feel welcome to the hotel. Our room was on the fifth floor, facing the street with Nishiki Market a short 3 minute walk from the hotel. Our room was quiet with the air conditioning/heater working quietly and efficiently during our stay. Due to the crisp cool weather that was occurring during our stay, we discovered that you could open the windows to let in fresh air (a delightful surprise!). The room was spotless and extremely clean and elegant. There was a coffee maker , hot water electric kettle along with a mini fridge (with a small freezer area). The toilet had a bidet along with an automatic warming toilet seat (great during the cold weather!). The bed was comfortable, but the pillows just seemed okay as I could not find the right spot with it. The location of the hotel was perfect as the Nishiki Market was a short 3 minute walk away, while. if you needed something, you could walk right down the street to a Lawsons for a quick bite or drink, if needed. If you wanted to shop, Kawaramachi Shopping District was also about a 10 minute walk away. The famous Pontocho Alley was about a 15 minute walk away while Hanamikoji Street is about a 20 minute walk from Miru Kyoto Nishiki. Food and shopping all close by. On our checkout day, the staff went above and beyond in helping arrange getting our luggage to Tokyo for us; they contacted our hotel in Tokyo to make sure they would hold it for us as we made our way to Tokyo. Another bonus is the free washer and dryer on the first floor near the front desk when/if you need to wash your clothes during your stay. In the end, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and recommend it wholeheartedly (you won't be disappointed!).

A lovely hotel situated in an ideal location - a stones throw to Nishiki market. The room was a good size and comfortable bed. Bathroom was also a good size. There was an assortment of amenities and usual items such as fridge, kettle, coffee machine. Free daily croissant for you to pick up was a lovely touch. There is also a laundry room to use. Front desk staff were very warm, friendly and informative especially for luggage forwarding support which we used. Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be returning.
