Had a lovely experience staying in this hotel. Very clean and comfortable accommodations and the onsen experience was amazing. The meal offerings were a tasty treat as well. The staff members were very kind.

You already get legendary Japanese hospitality when coming and staying in any Japanese hotel but this place takes it to the next level. The staff here are incredibly helpful and kind and will go above and beyond for you. The hot spring is well worth the cost per night by itself. Having that to come back to every night after a long day walking around Kyoto made a huge difference. All the amenities offered set it a bar above as well. Free Ramen after 9, yogurt and ice cream available by the hot spring. A massive breakfast (either purchased with room or a charge the morning of). I’m so satisfied with my stay here and I will definitely be back next time I’m in Kyoto.

We stayed in a cute small intimate hotel in the Gion on district our first 2 nights in Kyoto and then our last 2 nights here. That being said, my husband didn't really care for this hotel as it was very large and over crowded. Our room was clean and modern and had everything we needed - to the amenity drawer, the refrigerator filled with bottle waters and a dessert type thing, coffee cups and coffee, and a separate vanity desk to get ready. I went to the public "onsen" or bath late at night to enjoy it without the crowds (or kids) - it was very large and quite the experience. They have free message chairs outside the onsen which are a dream. They also provide late night ramen, which is surprisingly delicious - but expect crowds. Breakfast was amazing with all the hot and cold options and both Western and Japanese foods. But again, expect crowds even after you wait to get in the restaurant. You will not leave hungry. I was quite impressed with how efficient the restaurant and staff managed the crowds. When you enter the hotel, you take your shoes off and leave them in the locker. I liked this as I felt it was very Japanese. Our local tour guide said this is not typical of bigger hotels, just the smaller ones, so she was surprised by this. I didn't mind. The location is great as it's close to Kyoto Station, just expect everything around the area to be pricey and touristy due to this location.
