Very convenient to shopping, dining, and Nara Park sightseeing. Short on charm, especially for the price. Fluorescent lighting in bare-bones room felt decidedly "budget." “Room was Japenese style ”
Very nice for a short stay in Nara. Heaps of restaurants close by and short walk to Nara park. Only need to stay one night here I think as it’s quite small and was a bit hot at night. Staff are very friendly and the laundry in the corridor was much needed for us and very cheap ! 300 yen got us one … more

“Ryokan in a shopping center”
We haved stayed in Tenpo Ryokan and in overall the stay was good. Place very well located, in the shopping area full of restaurants, close to Kintastu-Nara train station and Nara Park. “Very central Japanese style Ryokan”
The pictures on here don't reflect the Ryokans outside. It has been updated and looks very traditional in dark wood. It's modern with ryokan twists. “Ryokan style in Nara”
The Tenpyo Ryokan is a 3-min walk from the closest JR Railroad station in Nara. We arrived around 1pm but they would not let us check-in until 4pm. That was a big negative. They have traditional Japanese robes in the room - fun to wear and take pics. Mattresses on the floor as expected I enjoy… more
