I stayed at Nest and Rise Osaka on my first trip to Japan, and it worked well as a base for a short stay. The rooms are compact — as expected in Osaka — but functional, with clever use of space in the bathroom. For one or two people, it’s manageable, though anything more would feel too tight. The hotel itself is modern and very quiet, with a calm atmosphere once you’re inside. There are convenience stores nearby, plus a large mall within walking distance (a nice bonus for food and shopping). While slightly out of the way, the nearest train stations aren’t too far, and Japan’s excellent public transport makes getting around easy. Overall, Nest and Rise offers solid value if you’re not too fussy about space and just want a clean, modern base. I’d consider staying again for a short trip, though for longer stays I’d probably look for something with a bit more room and facilities.

We have just completed a 7 night stay at The Rise in Osaka. We wanted to share our review. The property is located in the Naniwa Ward of Osaka, a short 3min walk to the Daikokucho Station of the Midosuji Line or the Imamiyeabisu Station of the Nankai-Koya Line. The Nankai-Koya Line will get you directly to amd from the Osaka Aiport (KIX) so that’s very handy. The property itself is brand new looking, very well maintained and managed. You’ll want to time your arrival for at or shortly after the official check-in time (15:00hrs) as the check-in process is fully automated through a kiosk (see picture). We normally do plan our travel time around check-in and check-out times as a habit, so this did not impact us. During our stay we did see people camped out in the lobby (daily) awaiting their check-in time. There is a staffed desk for people having issues checking in or with questions. They are also very helpful with showing customers how to secure their luggage in the provided storage area in the lobby. The room we booked was tidy, spacious for Japan standards and had comfortable beds. One concern we had was the proximity of the hotel to a rail line, thankfully the property is well sound insulated and we had no issues with noise. The wifi connection within the property was easy to join onto and provided ample speed to stream with. There are also plenty of channels to pick from with the TV. Though the hotel does not have a fitness facility, there are a few affordable gyms within easy walking distance from the property should you wish to maintain your fitness routine. There is also a Lawson’s right on the corner for any of your late night necessities. They do have a breakfast option and the restaurant is located on the second floor. We did not participate in their breakfast option so we cannot provide insight on that. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and found it to be an excellent value for money. We will be back again in the future. We will also be sure to recommend The Rise to our friends as well.

A basic three star hotel located between a freeway and a railway line outside of the tourist area. The rooms in this hotel are very small and we paid extra to be upgraded. We stayed here with AVG Travels so we did not have a choice of where we would like to stay. We were here for three nights. Our room was not cleaned or made up. Only new towels were replaced and rubbish emptied. The breakfast was mainly catered to the Chinese and Japanese tourist with very little western food. There is a train station 12 minutes walk from the hotel that connects to Kansai airport. Subways are about a 10 minute walk to get you into the main tourist areas in the city. I felt there was not much around this area actually it was not too clean and a lot of graffiti. A 711 was about 200 m down the road so you could get drinks and food there if you wanted. Lawsons was across the road also you could get food and drinks there. We did a lot of walking from this particular hotel and clocked up at least 15,000 steps per day so if you’re not into walking this is not the place for you. Would I stay at this hotel again? Definitely not. I would find a quieter hotel closer to Namba .
