“Fantastic stay!”
This hotel is a bit farther out, but we did use the train and the short walk there was actually really lovely, especially in autumn. The lobby is huge and check-in was swift. “Worth the visit”
Fantastic hotel It’s worth the trip. Too bad the surrounding area isn’t all that great but the hotel is well worth staying at. The staff is pleasant. The meals were buffet style. The selection of food options is immense. The rooftop onsen is definitely memorable.

“Onsen hotel gets high marks”
Asaya is a large onsen hotel rather isolated from stores, shops, and restos. Inside there are lots of them but I could not find a cup of coffee at 4:00 AM. There is free tea dispenser in the lobby. “Fantastic hotel. Just a bit far from all the other attractions of Nikko.”
I loved this hotel. Extremely clean. Too bad it’s just a bit far from both train stations. There is pretty much nothing to walk to within this hotel other than the Ropeway.
