On arrival in Tokyo we had to get the bus to our hotel as the queue for the cab's was running at 2 hours, there's a higher volume of flights coming into Tokyo on a Sunday which causes chaos, with all the work going on around the airport this just compounded the issue, a 45 minute journey turned into a 5 hour trip from hell. We eventually found where we had to get the bus from, even then we had to wait in queue for 1 hour. The 5 hours spent on this bus was the most misery I've experienced in my 52 years on this planet, I had the unfortunate pleasure of sitting next to a person who's sense of personal hygiene fell well below Western standards, I actually think this person had an "accident" if you know what I mean, I live in New York so trust me I've experienced some smells but this was beyond that. After an hour into the trip the bus concierge proceeded to involve everyone into a singing competition, after the delays on departure, 12 hour flight from JFK, waiting in queues, I was ready to fall to my knees, this for me could have been tipping point and we had to endure nearly 2 hours of this before the pain stopped. Eventually we got to our destination near the hotel, but once again due to road works we had to take the final 500 meters on foot, maybe my thoughts of wanting to end it all had been heeded as literally 30 seconds into the walk the heavens opened up, this was a rain and thunderstorm unparalleled to anything I've experience before, the rain was so fierce that it actually ended up saturating my suitcase and soaking most of my clothes. Just when you thought things could not get any worse they did, we had to negotiate a subway to get to our hotel, due to the heavy rain the subway was waterlogged and full of sewerage smelling water, we had no alternative other than to wade through up to our knees in the subway, the only saving grace was that my suitcase managed to float on top of the water so I could push it whilst wading through the water, my partner was so exhausted and distressed at this point she spent more time resting and crying on her suitcase, this was made worse when she lost both of her flip flops and subsequently had to walk the rest of the way bare footed. After 20 minutes of more hell we arrived at the hotel, the only positive I can take from this whole experience was the professionalism and help the hotel gave us, they washed, dried and pressed all our clothing for us in record time but if I'm honest the smell of sewerage never left me for the next 10 days. Sadly my travel companion was not so lucky with some of her personal effects, I can only appreciate now the distress this can cause a person, I guess we can joke about it now but the loss of hair straighteners and expensive shoes for some people is classified as a bereavement. The next day we travelled to Oyama with a few issues but none at the level of the previous 24 hours. Going back the original point of this review the hotel in Oyama was nice, but to be honest the next few days were extremely stressful due to the experiences after landing in Tokyo.

“Not bad at all, but nothing fancy”

This hotel is great for those looking for a place to crash at night between working or vacationing - it's neither a ritzy hotel nor a traditional ryokan. The room smelled slightly of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. Staff are helpful and friendly, and breakfast is halfway decent.

Hotel is located at a quite area. They do have a hot water bath (onsen). Clean and nice. Rooms are small. Bath rooms are very small compare to the most hotels internationally. Nothing much to do at the hotel. It is good fir night stay only.

“15 minutes away from the train station by Taxi...Breakfast...Uncomfortable beds”

Hotel is very clean and your usual businessman hotel in Oyama. Quite a distance from the train station by taxi. One thing to note...The beds are extremely hard and difficult to sleep in...I was so sore the next morning.
