Hotel Century Southern Tower boasts an unbeatable location, just a short walk from Shinjuku Station. It is extremely convenient for traveling around Tokyo, with numerous shopping malls, department stores, and restaurants right at your doorstep. The only minor drawback is that the walkway between the hotel and the station is uncovered, so you might get wet on rainy days. Since the lobby is located on the 20th floor with guest rooms situated even higher up, the hotel offers a surprisingly quiet, peaceful, and private atmosphere away from the bustling city below. The rooms are spacious by Tokyo standards, very clean, and well-equipped with all essential amenities. On top of that, the staff provided truly exceptional service throughout my stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Shinjuku!

“Love the Location and Convenience”

We had recently spent one wonderful night at the Century Southern Tower Hotel. We took the Airport Limousine Bus from Haneda Airport and it sent us directly to the hotel doorstep. It was absolutely convenient and hassle free. The guest rooms are located on the upper floors. Our room has big windows with the eastern views over the Shinjuku Park (not sure of the park’s name but hopefully I got it right). We could see the sunrise in the morning (wake up before 4.30am!). The room itself is about the typical size I think. Not too small, but not too big either. You can tell that this is an old hotel in need of some tender loving care based on its bathroom fittings. The room itself is clean, has a comfortable bed, comes with all the usual amenities and a reliable Wifi. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel. Instead we went to a nearby cafe for a very good egg Benedict breakfast. The hotel is just across the street from Shinjuku Station, which is a very big transport hub. It is also opposite the Shinjuku Takashimaya Department Store and shopping centre where we spent quite a bit of the afternoon and evening. Overall we had an enjoyable time at the Century Southern Tower Hotel and would recommend this hotel.

This is a farewell stay at a long time favourite hotel in Shinjuku as the Hotel Century Southern Tower will be closing in October 2026 for a full renovation that will take until around Spring 2028. While I am of course happy to see the hotel will renovate all its rooms and facilities since the existing rooms are quite old now, it will be difficult to find alternate accommodations in Shinjuku in the meantime that can match the convenience of location and good price value of the hotel. As well, I am hopeful but worried that the renovated hotel after reopening may be at a higher price point than currently. I took the Narita Express from Narita airport to Shinjuku station and exiting from the New South Exit, I was able to walk along the pedestrian Southern Terrace directly to the hotel making access easy even with luggage. Following check out from the hotel, I had an early morning bus to Haneda airport but again, it was a breeze to get to the express bus station at the top of the building where the New South Exit of Shinjuku station is located, once again using the pedestrian Southern Terrace. Hands Tokyo and Takashimaya Times Square are both just across a pedestrian bridge over the train tracks from the hotel and there are several floors of restaurants above Takashimaya Times Square for convenient meals in the area. For my final stay before the renovation, I was happy that the hotel was able to assign me a room on a high floor as requested and with a good view towards the West side of Shinjuku away from the JR Shinjuku station. From this side of the hotel, I was able to catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji on a previous stay but for this stay, the weather did not cooperate so there was no greeting from Mount Fuji. I had breakfast included in my room rate and the buffet breakfast continues to be very good with lots of selection and good quality offerings. Service is prompt. However because the hotel seems to be always very fully booked, there can be a wait for table from around 8 am onwards so I suggest going to breakfast early to avoid line ups. I had a fabulous stay at the hotel, wish it well for the renovation process, and look forward to returning once the renovations are completed and the hotel re-opens in the Spring of 2028.

“Excellent Hotel In Tokyo!”

My family of 5 stayed here for straight 7 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. On first day of checking in, even though we arrived at hotel rather late at 11pm plus, but no worries as our 3 rooms were kept ready for us on the same floor and very near to each other. Ms Suzuki who spoke good English helped us with checking in was most friendly and helpful. We requested an extra room card to my nephew’s room who was having the room to himself as we were worried in case he’s not able to wake up early morning, Ms Suzuki was understanding and right away issued us one. Even though it was coming to midnight, she was alert and served us with happy and radiant smiles throughout! We were satisfied with the rooms. They were comfortable and clean and good size. At 27 floor, we had beautiful views right at our rooms. The room also came with the essentials of slippers, dental kit, individual shampoo, conditioner, shower bottles. There was also a solid kettle (able to keep warm) with daily replenish of coffee, tea and green tea sachets. It’s also noteworthy that the coffee and tea came in the nice packets with the hotel’s name and picture on them. And yes, the room came with pyjamas too! The rooms were very comfortable but we were out the whole day. Still, it was very nice and soothing to come back every night to our very nicely and freshly made up room with everything replenished! The housekeeping team were excellent! This hotel also is located at the best strategic point with walking distance to nearby train and bus stations as well to the happening Shinjuku. There were also restaurants including McDonald’s, Starbucks and minimarts stone throw away. Take note the 7-11 at the downstairs of the hotel do not open 24 hours, think it close before midnight but there’s another family 24 hours few steps away. Takashimaya is also right across the street from hotel. Oh yes in every floor near lift there is drink vending machine as well as a drink station with free flow cool and warm water if you do not want to use the tap water. Ice machine also at same spot. As we were out early every morning we only managed tried out once the buffet breakfast and we think it was rather average. On our checking out day at the early morning we were assisted by the very pleasant Mr Inoue who helped us speedily as our transport to airport was already waiting for us. Our verdict: this is an excellent hotel in Tokyo for its price point! Hope it can maintain its overall standards and price! As we hope to come back to this hotel again if we coming to tokyo in near future!
