The location here is absolutely ideal, a couple of minutes from the station and surrounded by convenience stores and places to eat, including a restaurant on the ground floor, not to mention Ueno Park and other attractions pretty much at the doorstep. All the staff were super kind, polite, and helpful. The rooms are not huge, but this is Tokyo. We had a great stay and I would highly recommend it.

“A fine business hotel across the street from Ueno Station”

I found this to be a fine business hotel near Ueno station. Rooms are Tokyo-sized (small) as is expected. Location is easy to find, and as other reviewers have said it is better to take the Iriya exit from Ueno station as there are escalators and it is closer to the hotel. The room had a refrigerator, but there was a common microwave in the lobby area. Wifi was strong, shower pressure was amazing - a terrific shower! The bed was comfortable - and no noise at all. I found it to be a very comfortable spot for our stay of a few days in Tokyo. Several reviewers have mentioned the air conditioning so I emailed the hotel in advance to ask about it. This hotel, as some others, uses a common system for heating and cooling and for some reason they need to make a switch between the two settings on some date in Spring and Fall. If you happen to be there on a warm day in Spring before the system has turned to cooling, you are out of luck. When I visited in late June, the system was set to cooling, and we found the cooling to be very effective - I love it freezing in the room and it did not disappoint us. The temperature can be controlled in the room and I believe the lowest setting was 20C. For us in summer, the temperature control was very effective. We did not have breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. There is a convenience store at the end of the block. For us, going to/from Haneda Airport was easy using the Monorail and the Yamanote Line to Ueno Station. For our trip, this hotel was exactly what we were looking for.

This hotel is well-located in Ueno. Right across the street from the train station and an easy walk to many attractions nearby, including Ueno Park (with its museums), Ameyoko market, Yushima Tenjin Shrine and many restaurants. The rooms are quite small, and the additional furnishings make for very little room to move around. The bed is right against one wall, making it challenging for one person to get in or out if two people are sharing the room. There is also a step up into the bathroom, posing a possible tripping hazard. There is a fridge and kettle in the room. Wifi worked well. The bed was comfortable and there was very little noise from surrounding rooms or the street. There was little view from the room, however the window did let a reasonable amount of light in. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They allowed us to store luggage for free for a few hours on our day of departure. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, and while we didn't make use of it, it looked good from the outside! For a couple of nights stay, this hotel was convenient and comfortable enough.

“Convenient”

The rooms were small which seems to be a norm in Tokyo. Location was very close to Ueno station which helped us catch our early morning Shinkansen easily. Has a 24-hour izakaya close by and Ichiran ramen.
