We stayed at Sequence Miyashita for 6 nights. The hotel offers an amazing location, close proximity to popular Shibuya attractions and a short walk from Shibuya station. We booked a medium double room, which, as expected, was small but perfectly serviceable. It's recommended that you ask for a room as high as possible, as it can't get noisy at night. The hotel does offer a breakfast option, please be aware that breakfast option are limited to the in-house cafe option, rather than a traditional style buffet menu.

“Highly recommended; fantastic location”

Overall we were pleased with this hotel. It’s in a fantastic location, first of all. We were in one of the triple/bunk bed rooms on the south side of the building and had an AMAZING view of Shibuya, especially at night. Train noise was not at all a problem. Yes, we could hear trains. But in a bustling section of an enormous city you WILL hear noise. The thing is, the trains are practically the only thing we CAN hear, despite the insane Saturday night crowds, and they are a quiet whooshing clickety clack for a few seconds when they go by. Much quieter than our apartment in Washington, DC. Perhaps the trains are louder on the west side of the hotel, but we are on the lowest floor of rooms and can see the trains from our room as they go by. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and there are lots of outlets. The shower is great — a choice of two showerheads, temp adjustable separately from water pressure, and LEGENDARY water pressure. Like, way better than I have at home. Naturally there is also an awesome Japanese style toilet; my nether regions have never been so clean. Cons: the air conditioning is not very powerful. When we arrived it was off, and the room was something like 27 degrees C, which is toasty. It took a day and a half to get down to our preferred temperature, but to be fair there are three of us being mammals generating body heat, breathing, and of course showering, in a very small room. Also, laundry facilities, while present, are barely adequate. There are two machines for the whole building, so you have to hover to get one, and they are combo washer/dryer units, which never dry well at all. So be prepared to festoon your room with damp laundry after it’s done washing and “drying”, even after pulling the driest items and putting in the extra 100Y coin for an extra 30 min drying time. Special call out to my new hero at the front desk! We are doing a highly illogical thing: taking the Shinkansen to Aomori and then a ferry to Hakodate, instead of going the whole way on the train. We want to spend 4 hours in the “view seats” and see some ocean scenery in the Kaikyo Strait. Well, it turns out it’s extremely difficult to book those seats from the US. As of the day of our flight to Japan, a little over a week before our ferry adventure, that route was not yet showing up on one of the international third-party websites, and it is never possible to book view seats on the other. So we got the assistance of a LOVELY front desk staff member who helped us with the Japanese website the morning after we checked in here. And now have our tickets! Side note: two restaurants in the neighborhood that I’d recommend are “Hole in the Wall” for wafu spaghetti and Mo Mo Paradise for shabu shabu. Both were outstanding! Yes, Mo Mo is a chain; it’s basically “The Melting Pot” for shabu shabu. But the food is excellent quality and it’s friendly to newbies!

Sequence is a nice trendy decorated hotel with low key staff.
