The hotel is a nice hotel within a good price range considering Tokyo hotel price. In order to go to hotel from Tokyo Haneda airport,someone has to take a Limousine bus to Keio-Tama centre,and from Keio Tama centre,one should take a train towards shinjuky in keno line and get down at keio Nagayama station. After that they have to go out and go right from macdonalnd and upstairs.. the people in the hotel are very polite and given me a very good room considering japanese standard.. I will stay again and its a good hotel for conducting business.

My sister and I made a trip to Tokyo to visit my son and his family who live in the Tama area. The Smile Hotel was the closest (1 train station away from Tama Center station) place to stay and it was so easy to commute via the public transit system. Nagayama station is about a 5-6 min easy walk from the hotel. There is a path option for those who find stairs difficult. The station has a complete shopping center. The hotel itself is set up for business travelers and has a wonderful Family Mart on site (open 8-8). We purchased excellent coffee and breakfast sandwiches each day in addition to treats. The food options were hot or cold and superior to any convenience stores in the US. They also carry items such as asprin, cough drops, lotions, etc. We were able to get a corner room on the top (7th) floor with 2 comfortable beds, which I would say are 3/4 size (between a twin and double). The room was larger than I anticipated, had a wall of windows to give views of the city lights at night and above beautiful trees that made us feel like we were in a tree house. An elementary school was across the path leading to the train station and we enjoyed watching and listening to the children when they were outside. The beds were comfy but the buckwheat pillows were not our favorite. There was a step up to get into the bathroom but the fancy toilet and the deep Japanese style bathtub were a bonus. At 71 and 77 we were still able to navigate the step up into the bathroom and the step over the tub in order to take a shower but it could be a challenge for some folks. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water, rare in a large hotel. The Liquid soap, very nice shampoo and conditioner are provided in pump bottles. We chose to not have our room cleaned every day but each morning a bag of clean towels appeared on our door. The room we were in was very quiet and had a fan as well as AC. As for amenities, there were shelves with bins of robes to take as you got off the elevator. In the lobby were shelves with bins filled with extra toothbrushes/toothpaste, hair brushes, and face sponges (all sealed in plastic of course) that you could replenish as needed. The face sponges were in lieu of washcloths we discovered. They were soft and delightful to bathe with. The room had an electric kettle but no microwave. There is a microwave close to the lobby for use tho and many vending machines if the Family Mart is closed. We had a TV but never used it. We did use the laundry room several times and found it interesting that there are specific laundry rooms for men and for women. It cost 300 yen for a 31 min wash and 100 yen for 20 min dryer. Soap is automatically dispensed into the machines so no need to purchase that. The hotel does offer wifi but it only works in the hotel proper. If you go outside the hotel to the Family Mart or patio you will not get service. The front desk staff were professional and very helpful, tho not all understood or spoke English. We did use taxi service to move our luggage around and a representative from the staff walked us to the taxi pick up, which is located in a parking garage. There is a hospital located close to the hotel but we only heard an ambulance 1 time. For the most part the only sounds we heard were the children playing in the school yard and the rustle of the leaves. I would highly recommend the Smile Hotel if you wish to stay out of the city. Our room was #702 and perfect for 2 senior sisters traveling. I do not know what options would be available for families.
