Kichechi Camp was our first stop in Kenya (we were also in Uganda), and what an amazing place and experience. We arrived and were immediately greeted by the amazing staff for an orientation and then a beautiful lunch under the trees. Hotel manager, Didi and his staff were incredible. So welcoming, so warm, so charming, and always with a HUGE smile! We were incredibly fortunate to have James Nampaso as our game drive guide. He took us on morning and afternoon game drives where we saw so much wildlife: Elephants, leopards, cheetahs, lions, baboons, hyena, hippopotamus, buffalo, birds, you name it we saw it. He shared stories, about living in the conversancy, life in Africa, about the animals, and he introduced us to our first sundowners in Kenya. Sundowners is a wonderful tradition when you’re on the afternoon/evening game drive, where we stop the jeep, have a beverage (of choice), and watch the sunset. James is also an amazing photographer. We learned that a few years earlier, one of the hotel managers nominated James as best tour guide, and he won Best Safari Guide at the Wonderlust Werlust World Guide Awards in 2019. . Lodging was outstanding; you’re literally in a tent, but what a 5-star tent it was (had all the amenities). Staff was perfect. Food was amazing. Game drives and quiet time were top notch. Most of our dining was communal, either outside under the trees or in a lovely living room, with other guests. It was a delight talking to folks from all over the world and making wonderful connections. We would return in a heartbeat! The wildlife was spectacular, and the people along the way, even better!

We had an exceptional stay at Kicheche Olare - the team takes hospitality to a different level - the warm welcome , unlimited drinks , exotic food freshly prepared by chefs in every meal, the way the tents are cleaned twice a day - absolutely fantastic. The laundry service is exceptional too. The bush breakfasts are also worth mentioning - the detail of the arrangements and the excellent quality. Our guide was James Nampaso who was brilliant too , his experience and knowledge was so impressive. I would love to go back to Kicheche every year.

As with our previous visits to the Kicheche camps in Kenya. our recent trip was no exception. Yet again Kicheche deliver in all aspects of hospitality, food, comfort and the full authentic safari experience. The company have done a wonderful job working hand in hand with the local Masaai community to ensure the success of the conservancy concept. This camp is professionally run by Dido, Millie, Emma and their team. The accommodation we had was excellent, very comfortable with all the amenities you would see in top hotels. Food as we have come to expect from Kicheche was top class, it was nice to see that the pizza ovens are still in use!!. Our guide Josphat was superb, Some wonderful sightings of all the large cat species. Never ceases to amaze us how the guides manage to see things with the naked eye that we can't even with binoculars!! I'm not sure what else we could add other than to say that we would not consider looking anywhere else other than Kicheche when returning to Kenya.

Fantastic guide. James has vast knowledge, is an award winning photographer so gets you the best angles for photos. He seems to know what the animals (whch were plentiful) were going to do next so we saw both a lion kill and a successful leopard hunt amongst many fantastic sightings. The tent was well furnished with multiple charging points. and daily laundry service. The dining area was nicely set out and the food, top class - nutricious and filling. (Buffet lunch and communal seating in the evening with a 3 course meal and inclusive drinks). The manager, Dido (pronounced Dee-doh) and his team were wonderful - attentive and helpful. No frills just a great safari experience which was exactly as our Travell Agent was asked to provide.
