This was our fifth stay at Kingsmill Resort, and I write this review with complete confidence: there is simply no better destination experience in the region. Each visit has been exceptional, but this most recent stay may have been the finest of them all. The Estate and Accommodations The property is immaculate — meticulously maintained grounds, elegant landscaping, and stunning views at every turn that never fail to take our breath away, no matter how many times we’ve seen them. Inside, the accommodations reflect the same standard of excellence. Everything was spotlessly clean, and small luxuries made a big impression — the sheets alone were so impressive we commented on them more than once. It is the kind of attention to detail that separates a good resort from a truly great one. The Amenities Kingsmill offers everything you could want without ever leaving the property. Vehicles were at our disposal, a golf cart made exploring the grounds effortless and fun, and there was no shortage of activities on site. Whether you want a full itinerary or a slow morning taking in the view, the resort accommodates both beautifully. You could spend an entire week here and never run out of things to do. The People — Where Kingsmill Truly Shines As wonderful as the property is, it is the staff who elevate the experience from excellent to unforgettable. Our House Manager, Allen, was extraordinary — attentive, gracious, and seemingly always one step ahead of our needs. His thoughtful touches made our stay feel personal and effortless, and he genuinely made this visit even more memorable than the four before it. And then there is Chef Tony. Words do not do justice to his talent. Whether preparing a meal for a small, intimate group or feeding a large gathering, he executes flawlessly every single time. His food is Michelin-star caliber — inventive, beautifully presented, and consistently the highlight of each day. He is, without exaggeration, one of the finest chefs we have ever encountered anywhere. The Verdict Five stays in, Kingsmill Resort continues to exceed expectations we didn’t think could go any higher. The pristine estate, the stunning views, the world-class amenities, and above all the remarkable people make this a destination we will return to again and again.

“2026 TJM Memorial Golf Outing”

I held a charity golf event to honor the memory of my late brother. The golf staff was very friendly, professional and attentive to our group. I held a charity golf event to honor the memory of my late brother. The golf staff was very friendly, professional and attentive to our group. We were a group of 30+ and also held a banquet in the River Room. The staff was great and the food was, as well. A special shout out to Lori who took care of my group at breakfast. She was funny, engaging and very professional to my group. She was a rockstar. Also, thanks to Savannah who help me coordinate all the details that needed to be dealt with. We are definitely coming back. Great facilities and great golf !

“Average At Best”

The location is excellent, you are on the James River, close to everything in Williamsburg including Busch Gardens and shopping Outlets. The location is excellent, you are on the James River, close to everything in Williamsburg including Busch Gardens and shopping Outlets. The atmosphere at first glance seems nice, and when you take in the grounds and the views, it is a fairly nice atmosphere. The rooms, or at least the room my family and I stayed in was not as nice as one would expect and in fact needed a lot of help. The door handle was broken on one entrance, the carpet needs to be replaced, and the shelving in the shower is only held on by simple caulking which is not sturdy enough and so the shelves in the shower fall off. There was an open bag of chips left that we found in the counter when we first entered and a wrapper of some kind on the floor in the walk in closet. The toilet would run in stop until you adjust the flush handle just right. I’d say the value is not there. The price is not matching the condition of the room in both maintenance and cleanliness. The noise level however is fine as there were no loud interferences or disturbances during our stay. It was a rather peaceful stay. Tie service of the resort depends on where you are. The front desk staff were all very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet staff were very friendly. The staff at the coffee shop called The Mill seemed to not want to be there, they were not friendly and all seemed to have an attitude on their faces. My two youngest sons ordered hot chocolate but it wasn’t hot and was more like chocolate milk. The service at James Landing Grille was just ok, average service however the food left a lot to be desired and I’d say the price was not worth it at all. Best to eat off the resort somewhere in Williamsburg.
