Beautiful hotel in a perfect location and surrounded by a lovely area. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is in a very convenient part of town. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel has a lot of character, being a collection of old buildings that have been restored. Good breakfast in a lovely courtyard.

Three nights here as the final hotel of our road trip. The property is spread across several historic buildings right in Riga’s Old Town, so location-wise it hardly gets any more central. And as a bonus, the whole place comes with plenty of character and history. We liked the location a lot. The room was sufficiently spacious, modern in a great style and definitely clean. The curtains did a very good job of blocking out the long lasting summer light. From our room we even had a good view into the narrow lanes of the Konventa quarter. Our room, compared to other posts, itself was quiet, and the air conditioning worked very well without blowing directly onto the bed. The only real issue for us was the mattress topper. Unfortunately, it seemed to trap heat and perhaps moisture as well. In any case, we woke up several times during the night drenched in sweat. Not because the room itself was too warm, but because the topper felt oddly heat- or moisture-retaining. It reminded me a little, apologies for the image, of those liquid-proof hospital mattresses. That is something the hotel should really address, because it would noticeably improve the sleeping experience. And then there was our shower. In our case, the floor had not been tiled with the right slope, so the water simply collected in the shower and stayed there, instead of draining away properly. Luckily within the shower area but did not flood the whole bathroom. Perhaps just a one-off issue in our room. That said, the staff were consistently very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. Parking is possible, though it is on a public car park about 200 metres from the hotel. Ask at reception and you can get a special 24-hour rate, currently €18 instead of the usual €35 per day. On certain public holidays parking may even be free, but definitely check with the hotel first. Breakfast is, as I got it from the booking, always included and is served as a buffet next door in Two More Beers, which is essentially a pub next to the hotel. Overall, we found the indoor breakfast/buffet area a little too dark for our taste. The terrace, on the other hand, was lovely in the morning and a great place to sit in the sun. We really enjoyed that. The food selection was perfectly fine, though not particularly memorable. I do love a hot chocolate in the morning, as, incidentally, many people in the Baltics seem to, but here I could neither make one myself nor order one, which felt like a small missed opportunity. All things considered, if you subtract those smaller issues, this is an absolutely solid and good hotel in a prime location. But because of the points mentioned above, and considering both the hotel category and the nightly rate, it lands more in the average range for us overall.
