What a find ! I stay in London once a week and although for business I want somewhere that’s a home from home. Great value, clean and comfortable but best of all an excellent rooftop bar amazing views but topped off by great service from Mapi and the team … will definitely be back and spreading the word. We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions, having just returned from a 5 night break! The location, room cleanliness, rooftop bar, and amenities are all worthy of 5*s, but what sets this hotel apart is its customer service! Somehow, we managed to leave sunglasses in our room and we receive a call from Jessica who could not have been more helpful and we received the forgotten items back within 48-hours of our departure. Jessica provided a level of customer service rarely seen these days and her communication throughout was exemplary. We visit London twice a year and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We stayed at Hotel AMANO Covent Garden for one night, and overall it was a really pleasant experience — especially given how central it is in London. Location & First Impressions The location is excellent — within a 5–10 minute walk of most theatres in and around Covent Garden, which made it perfect for our trip. The lobby area is really lovely, with a great smell as soon as you walk in and a modern, stylish feel. There are self-check-in screens available, but there’s always someone on hand to help, which is a nice balance. Check-in was quick and seamless, with no waiting around. The lady who checked us in was incredibly friendly, asked about our plans for the weekend, and made us feel really welcome. We had mentioned we were celebrating our recent engagement, and to our surprise, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a Gold Room, which was such a lovely touch. Room The room itself was very clean, modern, and well presented. Size-wise, it was fairly average, even for an upgraded room, but it had everything we needed. There was a desk, a large and very comfortable bed, and a coffee machine. WiFi worked well throughout our stay. The bathroom was a real standout feature — it included a large gold bathtub positioned by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the street (with curtains for privacy), as well as a separate shower and some lovely toiletries, including bath salts. There was also a thoughtful congratulations gift of chocolate truffles left in the room, which was a really nice personal touch. The only downside was the temperature in the room. It felt quite warm overnight, and although there appeared to be an air conditioning panel, we weren’t able to adjust it ourselves, which wasn’t ideal. Facilities & Breakfast We didn’t get a chance to try the rooftop bar, although it looked great and definitely worth checking out on a future visit. We did have breakfast, and the service there was really good. The staff were friendly and attentive — one of the team even made us a coffee while we went to get our food, despite there being a self-service coffee machine available. The food selection was decent, though fairly limited on the hot side (sausages, bacon, and scrambled eggs). There were also pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, juices, and other continental options, which were all nice. Overall For the location, quality, and price, this hotel offers really good value for money in central London. A few minor issues like the room temperature and limited hot breakfast options, but overall a very enjoyable stay. We would definitely stay here again.
