This was a comfortable stay. Room 30 is minuscule but has all that I needed for a single traveller. This was a comfortable stay. Room 30 is minuscule but has all that I needed for a single traveller. The reading light did not work on the evening I arrived and there was not a suitable spare bulb at reception however it was quickly fixed the next day. The shower room was clean and the shower worked fine. Bed was comfortable and there was a tea/ coffee tray. Breakfast was adequate with plenty of coffee/ choice of teas, a selection of breads, cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs etc with some fruit (tinned). The breakfast room is small and on the second day I had to wait a few minutes for a place to sit. Reception staff were helpful. Overall this stay was good value for money and I'd be happy to stay again.

The hotel was perfect for what we needed, it was clean and all the staff we saw were helpful, the breakfast staff were very friendly and worked hard. The hotel was perfect for what we needed, it was clean and all the staff we saw were helpful, the breakfast staff were very friendly and worked hard. The Breakfast room was open from 7:30 but people seemed to be in there before then, we managed to get a seat but saw others struggle especially larger parties. Breakfast was basic but adequate - choices of cereal, toast, fruit, pastries, meat, cheese, eggs and yoghurt. It filled us up until lunch. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was good. We didn’t realise but there is a small fridge in a cupboard that’s perfect for keeping extra milk/water in. Our only issue was the bell at the main door we where located next to reception so heard the bell several times during our stay and the herd of elephants located in the room above- they were particularly noisy first thing in a morning! We always think about those below us when staying in a hotel but I guess not everyone is the same! Saying this we would still stay here again.

Pros; Great staff, good service in room, clean room, great location—central and walkable. They gave us ground floor due to mobility. Cons; there was a lot of scent at first and then a pipe smell—not horrible but noticeable. Also, if you have any mobility issues, you will jot be able to get to break… more

Pros; Great staff, good service in room, clean room, great location—central and walkable. They gave us ground floor due to mobility. Cons; there was a lot of scent at first and then a pipe smell—not horrible but noticeable. Also, if you have any mobility issues, you will jot be able to get to breakfast and hot coffee (instant in room). The stairs to “cafe” are steep & narrow and no lifts. Then, the cafe room is very tight to get through and it was packed when we were there (in January). So we gave up and bought food & coffee at the cafe across the street. Overall, likely a fair price, $146 usd/night for the place in any case. Would have preferred an option to save a little to opt out of difficult breakfast. Thank You!
