My wife and I stayed here for six days, and in many respects, it felt just right. Price was ideal. Each morning, we stepped out into Hyde Park and crossed into the city on foot and wandering through Westminster, lingering near Buckingham Palace, China Town, Oxford Street and taking in the quiet beauty of the Sky Garden, along with many other corners of London that revealed themselves as we went. The location made all of this effortless. Being only a short walk from Paddington Station meant the city opened up easily in every direction, yet the hotel itself remained a calm place to return to at the end of the day. Rooms were clean including bathroom and shower. What stayed with me most, though, was the atmosphere within. The staff at the desk and in the breakfast, room were consistently warm and good-natured, setting a gentle tone each morning. Breakfast itself was perfect with more than enough to begin the day, and there was something quietly pleasant about sharing that space with fellow travellers—brief conversations exchanged between people all passing through, each on their own journey. In the evenings, we found a number of good places to eat just a short walk away. The Lebanese restaurant and Moto in particular stood out, both offering meals that rounded off our days in a satisfying way. All in all, it was a stay that combined comfort, kindness, and a sense of ease—exactly what we had hoped for. Jim &Fay

Everything was just perfect, extra exceptional Staff attention. The only weak point: You have to stand the noise of old wooden floor buildings.. Inconsiderate guests help mostly by moving furniture or arriving with high heels or even play marbles in the middle of your sleep, but that happens everywhere and it happens all the time but not noticiable on concrete floors

“A fantastic stay at a warm, friendly, great hotel”

My stay at the Athena Hotel was faultless. They stored my luggage twice, before check-in and when I checked out. My stay at the Athena Hotel was faultless. They stored my luggage twice, before check-in and when I checked out. In fact, they were so considerate that when I did check-in they had my suitcase waiting for me in my hotel room. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always greeting me with a smile. When I bought a bottle of wine from M&S that came with a cork, when I asked if they possibly had a corkscrew in their kitchen, they produced one from behind the front desk. I booked my room directly with the hotel which meant I could get free breakfast, however, I missed it because I either slept in or left to go on a day tour too early in the morning. Once I made my reservation, I emailed the hotel and requested a room close to the ground floor as I have bad knees. To my delight, they gave me a room on the ground floor so I didn't have to use their elevator or stairs. They were also helpful when it came to doing laundry. Before I booked with them, I asked if they had a laundry service. They don't, but helpfully replied with the name of a laundromat that was just around the corner complete with their opening hours. Back to my room, the bed was comfortable to sleep in, the ensuite bathroom spotless, house cleaning every day and although I was travelling solo I booked a double room for a little extra space which is exactly what I got. Thank you Athena Hotel, I would love to stay with you again if I return to London.

“Great hotel”

Such a lovely, quiet, clean, convenient, well priced hotel. The continental breakfast was delicious and perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They also stored our bags for the day. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to london.
