Staff was friendly and incredibly helpful, moved our rooms around so that our family could be on the same floor, bar was a great place to take a break in the evenings, location is perfect bc it’s out of the busy rush of the center of the city (and only a few minute walk from Hyde Park) and located less than 10 minutes walking from 3 tune stations. Rooms were clean and nicely sized for European hotels

This is a very impressive looking hotel when you approach, the foyer and terrace area is really lovely, the staff on reception are superb, the location for central London is really excellent, in my opinion there were 2 issues (albeit minor but my rating would have been an easy 5 without doubt if these were not an issue) issue one we stayed in room 113 and it has everything you need but it is very small and a bit tired and certainly not representative of the wow factor you get on entry, I would have said it was a single room rather than a double, but we pretty much only slept there. Issue 2 my bigger gripe was the breakfast staff, now I'm a northerner and we are pretty friendly and accommodating (in the main) but the two staff we interacted with wouldn't be working for my firm if they dealt with clients in the way they spoke, now it could be that they are foreign or they haven't been trained properly although is think the lady who was possibly Chinese looked like a manager so id be surprised, again I say minor issue because they were not rude but very curt and then walked away, we tend not to have that issue in London, I've actually had better staff in some premier inns, However please do not let my minor issues put you off staying here, like I say its in a great spot and nearly every other staff member were great, I will mention 1 in particular a lady called Aran, now she is a master in dealing with the public and a true asset to the hotel.

The Blakemore is well situated (nearby 94 bus straight through to Oxford Circus) and comfortable. The junior suite had a large, firm bed and a useful second room with a sofa. The breakfast was adequate, with the usual buffet style setup. The bathroom was clean with a good shower. However, there were some negative aspects: during our four day stay one or other of the two lifts was out of action for three days. Getting service on the Terrace was all but impossible. The two televisions in the room shared a remote, which meant both had to be on at the same time... not ideal if your partner is trying to sleep while you watch in the next room. A fault with the desk light switch (meaning it was constantly on) was reported on the second day, but never got fixed. Lunch was supposedly from midday - but we were told that food would not be available until about 12:15 "as the chef doesn't arrive until 12:00"! Also, guests could not add drinks bills to their final room bill - they all had to be paid separately at the time. Overall, pretty good, but definitely could do some things better.

Our family group of five stayed for 3 nights (3 rooms). This hotel is well located near tube and bus lines, is attractive, the breakfast wonderful, the bed comfortable, friendly staff. The only negative was the WiFi, which was hard to connect to, and dropped frequently. This happened in each of our rooms, and in the lobby also. Staff were sympathetic, but were unable to remedy it. So many tasks are now done on the internet that this was a problem.
