Everything about this hotel is perfect from the moment you step up to the door to the moment you leave. This is the epitome of how every hotel should be run. Nothing was too much trouble from the start of our experience to the end. Heard a lovely story from the taxi driver who took us to a restaurant when we left which epitomises the ethos of the hotel (about offering him a super cheap deal coming out of covid). Its not cheap, but worth every penny. One thing I would be cautious of is ordering the Japanese breakfast again (if I am ever lucky enough to stay again). Thanks again to the hotel for upgrading us - it made our wedding even more super special).

Lunch at Claridge’s was a birthday gift from my daughter—part of her wonderful tradition of treating me to some of London’s finest destinations each year—and it proved to be every bit as special as we’d hoped. We arrived a little early and began with cocktails in the bar, where the service was immediately warm, attentive, and polished without ever feeling overbearing. It set the tone perfectly for the afternoon ahead. Soon after, we were escorted through to lunch, stepping into the hotel’s beautiful Art Deco surroundings - elegant, timeless, and unmistakably Claridge’s. The service throughout was exceptional. We were looked after by a charming member of staff whose name I have unfortunately forgotten; he mentioned he would be returning to Cork later this year to complete his degree. His attentiveness and genuine warmth made our experience feel personal and memorable, elevating what was already a special occasion. The menu offered a pleasing variety, and I was particularly impressed with the gluten free options available. I chose the fish, which was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Every element on the plate felt considered and refined. Adding to the atmosphere was a talented pianist, whose playing created a relaxed yet sophisticated ambience that we both thoroughly enjoyed. A particularly lovely touch came when we were presented with complimentary birthday cocktails at our table, complete with images of my daughter and me delicately etched into the topping, an unexpected and delightful detail that truly made the occasion feel celebrated. With its stunning setting, outstanding food, and genuinely exceptional service, Claridge’s delivered an experience we’ll both treasure. It’s somewhere we would return to without hesitation.

“Check The Bill”

Iconic venue but not sure our bill was correct compared with the menu prices however we felt obliged to pay it because it was such a lovely lunch. Staff were really good 👍

I tried to give a 3.5 rating. So we booked afternoon T for a 60th girlfriend’s treat. The hotel is lovely, doormen polite, waiting staff polite and friendly - they seem to glide - the lovely lady ensuring the toilets were immaculate and you felt special, the setting, coordination of colours of the crockery, the cocktails had a punch, the ambience with the music and the history were all lovely. Unfortunately the food was a let down. Thick sandwiches, no cake stand!!!!, OK looking cakes but nothing special - where was the showiness, the amazement, the theatre. We had a change of server during our T and so were only offered 2 cups of T which was a shame and the second one was barely luke warm. I guess I just expected more from such a British institution. Would I go again - yes, but after exploring different places.
