Loved our stay here! We arrived very early after a long flight from Australia! Chantelle was very helpful and made the whole check in experience a lot more pleasant than most hotels would make. Room was spacious for London standards. Hotel was very clean. Found the towels a bit bigger and heavier than they normally should be so I found my towels slipping off the rack quite often. Only one side of the bed had a power point which was a minor inconvenience. Overall, good price, good location and good facilities. I’ll happily go back

I visited London in May 2025 and stayed at a hotel where most of my experience was pleasant. The hotel itself was nice, and most of the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. However, I had one very unpleasant experience with a particular staff member in the restaurant. One morning, my son and I arrived slightly late for breakfast. The staff member refused to serve us and spoke to us in a very arrogant manner. After we insisted and politely requested, she finally allowed us to have breakfast. What upset me was that shortly afterward, another family arrived even later than we did, and she immediately allowed them to have breakfast without any hesitation. Since we were Indians, she treated us like that. I also ordered an omelet that cost about £10. On two separate days, the eggs were almost burnt. When I pointed it out, she argued with me and said that the eggs were made correctly. I did not want to create a scene, so I simply left the food on the table and walked away, even though I had paid for it. Some of the other staff members seemed to feel bad about the situation, but they did not intervene, likely because they did not want to create a scene either. Later, I mentioned the incident to the manager, who apologized for the experience. There was also a small issue during checkout. I had mentioned earlier that I might check out late, but the receptionist charged me £10 for a late checkout. After I explained what had happened at breakfast and discussed the situation, the manager agreed to waive the fee. However, I did not later verify whether the amount was actually refunded to my account. That incident was my only bad experience during my visit. Apart from that, I found the people in London to be very friendly and welcoming.

I found this hotel to be of a high standard, even after reading some reviews. My room was clean and well presented. Reception was efficient, and I dined in the bar, which I found pleasant, and the food was a good standard. Breakfast is buffet style with a large choice, too. I do think the walls are a bit thin as you can hear a lot of noise from the corridor and neighbouring rooms, but it didn't stop me having a good night's sleep. Staff aren't particularly engaging but it's a busy hotel and they are busy people. I enjoyed my two nights stay.

For a four-star hotel, Novotel Waterloo was quite disappointing. The room was reasonably clean and adequately sized to accommodate four people, but it is clearly in need of refurbishment. The wallpaper is starting to peel, particularly in the corridors, and the washbasin tap was stained with the sink water draining poorly. The door in the bathroom was also chipped. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety and was generally satisfactory, although the scrambled eggs were served cold. The location is also less than ideal, as it is approximately 15–20 minutes from the main train station, though it is accessible by bus. We usually choose Novotel for its consistent standards of service and cleanliness; however, our experience at the Waterloo property fell short of expectations and was rather disappointing.
