We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Z. A special thank you to Abitha, Navya, and Rohan, who were excellent club hosts and made us feel truly welcome throughout our visit. Anastasia and Mitchell, the managers, were also incredibly kind, professional . Their hospitality and friendly service made our experience memorable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again!

Our stay at Z Hotel 87 Gloucester Place London was absolutely wonderful and memorable. We stayed in Room No. 8723 for five nights from 22nd May to 27th May 2026 during our holiday from New Zealand as part of our Europe tour, and we could not have chosen a better place to stay in London. The hotel is in an excellent and very convenient location, making it easy for us to travel around and enjoy the beautiful attractions of London. The facilities provided by the hotel were outstanding, including excellent room service, reliable high-speed WiFi, 24/7 customer support, and lovely complimentary tea, coffee, and evening wine/beer services which made our stay even more enjoyable and relaxing. What truly made our experience exceptional was the warm hospitality and outstanding customer service provided by two wonderful staff members, Rohan and Neater. They were extremely friendly, professional, caring, and always ready to assist us with a smile. Their dedication and kindness made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay. We highly recommend Z Hotel 87 Gloucester Place London to anyone visiting London. Guests can confidently book this hotel and experience genuine hospitality, comfort, and excellent service. “Good location and does the basics well.”

Booked due to a cancelled train, check in was easy and efficient, although there are 2 z hotels on Gloucester Place. Hotel was clean and seemed reasonably priced against other London hotels, but perhaps the late booking helped. It was worth joining the club for the discount and benefits. All in all… more

“Not really what it was”

I arrived on Friday lunchtime and rang the bell which was opened by a young man who just looked at me - eventually he said ‘you checking in?’ (I was standing there with my suitcase) - no ‘welcome to the Z hotel’ or anything approaching it - not even a smile. He then told me sternly that my request on the booking form (for a room at the back of the hotel where there’s no road noise) probably couldn’t be complied with. Next he told me that my room wouldn’t be cleaned every day and let me go on my way. Not the best start to my stay (not even close). As it turned out my request was granted and my bag had been taken to the room so that was a better result - just don’t know why he was so brusque when I got there. Maybe training is needed. I stayed Friday to Tuesday and my room wasn’t cleaned once during that time which is not acceptable however much the hotel wants to be environmentally friendly. Bins not emptied, nothing replenished. When I came here years ago the food was so much better (I was at 87 which provides free drinks all evening and cheese at about 6pm). Now it’s fairly minimal but it’s nice to have it regardless. Drinks are good - wines, spirits, beers, sodas etc - especially given London prices. There was another male member of staff during the week and two females and they were all lovely - helpful and friendly. I had one of the more expensive rooms and I liked it. The window opened which, for me, is always a plus. It had two armchairs and a large fairly comfortable bed with a choice of both soft and firmer pillows. Shower was good. Just had to reuse towels as they weren’t changed. I also had to take a loo roll from the downstairs WC as mine - again - hadn’t been replenished. I used to have a top floor room and this time got a third floor one. Sadly there was a herd of elephants staying above me who riverdanced every night. There was also work being done to a nearby building which started early in the morning-although I understand that this is out of the hotel’s hands. I used to think this hotel was magical. I still like it but now just have to temper my expectations. It’s in a great location and it’s still a bit cheaper than others and the food and drink is a nice touch. I’ll go again (if they’ll have me after this!) but I’d be wary of recommending it after this visit.
