We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The journey to the hotel was very simple upon arriving at Paddington and its proximity to local areas such as Hyde park and Kensington were lovely for our visit. We arrived and were able to check in very easily with the front desk and the lovely staff there. Upon arriving in our room the room appeared clean, however was extremely warm. It appeared our AC was broken or not working which was a shame due to the ongoing heatwave at the time. We did call reception and were informed it would be reset and back working in 10-15 minutes. After half an hour we called again and informed them it wasn’t working again, upon which they provided us a large fan that allowed us to sleep in the heat. The room was not provided with bin bags, and no teas or coffees were provided. My partner also suffers from asthma and was particularly struggling to breathe in the room. We soon discovered this was because every surface above eye level was left uncleaned and coated in dust. This with the poor ventilation left the room very muggy. In addition to the heat the water pressure was really light and barely more than a light rain shower. This made bathing very difficult, especially after a long sweaty day in London. Breakfast was included in our stay however was very much below what I would expect at a 4 star hotel. The scrambled eggs were very liquidy and the bacon and sausages extremely oily. We requested a coffee and tea with a dairy alternative due to allergies and were never brought it. Listening to other diners, they also had their tea and coffees forgotten or shown up very late into breakfast. We also noticed that anyone in a party over 2 people had a long wait to be seated for breakfast. Both days we came down there was a large line already formed waiting. We were able to skip this as they usually had a table for 2 ready every 5 minutes but larger parties had longer waits. Overall this hotel was good for our 2 day visit but I would not have enjoyed staying there longer than that, its defining features are the perfect location in London and near stations, as well as the lovely staff who we do not fault and were able to help everytime we contacted them.
