The Jade Hotel was a great little find. It is one of several small hotels in a lovely, tall, white row of Victorian terraces in Hogarth Street, in the heart of Earls Court. Its best features were the very reasonable pricing and its easy proximity to central London. LOCATION: The hotel is conveniently close to Earls Court train station - about a 4 - 5 min walk (it is worth noting that we did not hear any train noise at the hotel we were at front of the building). Access to central London was fast and easy via the District (green) and Piccadilly (dark blue) lines. We could get from Heathrow airport in around 45 min by train and we were at Hyde Park Corner in just 20 min. Trains are frequent, running every couple of minutes. Several of the very popular museums are within walking distance. We walked to the Natural History Museum in about 15 min and from there it was only another 5 min to the Science Museum and the V&A. Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace are also only 15 min away. ROOM: The hotel is set in a charming row of Victorian terrace houses but the interior is modern and there is an elevator (there are perhaps 4 or 5 stairs at the very front of the building but you no dragging of bags up to your room). Our room was nicely furnished and was clean and comfortable. No problems with wifi and there were chargers next to the beds. The bathroom appeared to have been renovated fairly recently. Water flow and supply of hot water was good and toiletries were supplied. An unexpected bonus was a small kitchenette. This has been cleverly incorporated inside a cupboard so we tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge microwave, sink, cutlery, bowls and plates. If you wanted to self-cater on a limited scale, it would be possible. SERVICE: The check-in desk is open 24 hours which I also didn’t expect. This made our life much easier. As we were arriving quite late. Service was friendly and welcoming and over the next couple of days, they helped us with maps and other information and looked after our bags for several hours after we had checked out.

Smooth check in, small reception.lift to rooms. I stayed in a very tired very small double. It had half a window with some non blackout curtains. The room was clean, bed and pillows not enormously comfortable. The room was very tired, chipped paint and ripped wall paper in parts. Bathroom tight but good shower pressure. You get what you pay for, it’s cheap in a great location. Would I stay again, probably not - but I’m used to modern and more expensive hotels. No breakfast available.
