My first review in a while, however over the last year I've stayed in many of London's leading luxury hotels over the years, but after my recent stay at The Peninsula London, I can say without hesitation that it now sits at the very top of the list. The Peninsula has achieved something remarkable. It almost feels as though a fresh perspective has arrived in London and quietly redefined what true luxury hospitality should look like. Every detail has been thought through, every interaction feels intentional, and the standards are simply exceptional. From the moment you walk through the doors, everything is immaculate. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, yet never feels ostentatious. Instead, it has an understated confidence that immediately puts you at ease. Check-in was smooth, personal and completely unhurried, and I was incredibly grateful to be offered both an early check-in and a late check-out. Those small touches made the entire stay feel effortless from beginning to end. I was also fortunate enough to receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The suite is honestly the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was enormous and a complete technological marvel. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like walking into an Apple Store with pretty much everything being operated through tablets, but one that had somehow been infused with timeless luxury and elegance. Every piece of technology was intuitive, beautifully integrated and actually useful, rather than being there for the sake of it. The room literally had everything and even had its own printer something I've never encountered beforewhich perfectly sums up the extraordinary attention to detail. It is the perfect marriage of cutting-edge innovation and traditional luxury, and I genuinely found myself smiling as I discovered everything the room could do. Despite being in the heart of London, the hotel was incredibly peaceful. The noise insulation is exceptional, and I enjoyed one of the best nights' sleep I've had in any hotel. The service throughout was absolutely faultless. I actually thought that. I had lost something, ( I hadn't) but house keeping was very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the wonderful lady who checked me in and personally escorted me to my suite, but she deserves enormous recognition. She was warm, gracious and effortlessly professional, and she set the tone for the entire stay. The concierge team were equally outstanding. When we were running late for dinner, they arranged a taxi immediately without hesitation. It was handled with complete professionalism and genuine warmth. The following morning, the Spa team continued that same exceptional standard of service. Every member of staff I encountered seemed genuinely proud to work there, and it showed. For context, I travel frequently for work in banking and regularly stay at The Londoner, The Savoy and The Langham, as well as Fairmont properties around the world. In my opinion, The Peninsula London comfortably surpasses them all. Luxury hotels often promise perfection. The Peninsula genuinely delivers it. The rooms are spectacular, the technology is years ahead of almost every hotel in the UK for sure, the service is flawless, and the attention to detail is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere. This isn't simply another five-star hotel,it has established a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in London. I rarely write reviews, but this hotel deserved one. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I was looking forward to returning to celebrate my birthday but unfortunately had working commitments that came up . Without hesitation, it's now my favourite hotel in London by a considerable margin. I was upgraded to a suite so would be unfair to talk about value but I cannot talk highly enough around the hotel.

“Quiet luxury with modern amenities”

Amazing hotel with all the modern digital requests you can enjoy. Luxurious with 5 star service. I took advantage of the amazing bathtub & room service! This will be my new home away from home.

An adequately tasty afternoon tea, with mixed service. We had one normal and one vegan afternoon tea. I cannot recommend the vegan one. An adequately tasty afternoon tea, with mixed service. We had one normal and one vegan afternoon tea. I cannot recommend the vegan one. Sandwiches: Great flavours for the non-vegan ones, but far too much smoked salmon and the tart was too sweet. The vegan sandwiches were mostly good, but it is disappointing to see the used of brined artichokes used on a sandwich. The beetroot sandwich was excellent. Sweets: The vegan sweets were incredibly disappointing. The drizzle cake was overworked and very unpleasant. The English rose dessert was too tart, bordering on bitter. The millefeuille was an inaccurate descriptor. It was rose chocolate sheets sandwiching the filling. Very awkward to eat and a misleading title. The Charlotte was tasty. Non-vegan were much better. English rose was a much better balance and the strawberry Charlotte was excellent with really good textures. The baba was great, really interesting flavours and a great mouthfeel. The millefeuille I think was just a poor choice. Very awkward to cut and eat and the use of a jelly for one of the layers was poor. The scones were excellent and we really loved the lemon curd. Service: Very mixed here, with around 5 different members of staff serving us throughout. One member brought an additional cup when bringing the tea, but didn't remove it. They also didn't remove the tea strainer when replacing the pot and were generally heavy handed when serving. We enjoyed the tea recommendation another member of staff gave and thought the service from Chloe was exceptional. An enjoyable experience overall, but one that's hard to recommend given the other high-end afternoon tea options available in a similar location.
