Lovely pub just a few minutes walk from Paddington station. It’s a proper old London pub with plenty of charm and atmosphere. Lovely booths that make you think you’re on a very grand old train with plenty of space and comfort. I didn’t eat there but the food smelled amazing and looked fabulous when it was being bought out. We stayed in room 3 on the first floor. Check in at the bar was easy and they let you leave you luggage in a locked cupboard whilst you go and explore London. The room was small boutique style but was plenty big enough. The huge walk in shower was excellent condition. Tea/coffee complimentary in the room with a small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. No biscuits though. We had the room only but the breakfast looked fabulous as we walked out to see the sights. A perfect stay and only 2 stops on the Bakerloo line from London Marylebone. I will definitely be returning in my next trip to London.

We booked using Young’s Brewery’s “One More Sleep” promotion, which gave us two nights for the price of one—an amazing deal at around £100 for two nights in central London. The hotel is perfectly located, just a two‑minute walk from Paddington Station. We arrived around midday and, although our room wasn’t ready, a staff member happily took our bags and stored them securely while we headed to the theatre. We had a drink before leaving, and the pub area was lively with the football on. The décor is lovely, full of character and railway memorabilia. When we returned, the bar manager checked us in, carried our bags to the room (note: stairs only, no lift), and walked us through everything we needed to know—keylock access, AC, WiFi, and so on. The room itself was beautifully refurbished with a large, comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a sofa bed all set up for our little one, complete with a Paddington Bear cushion she adored. The bathroom had an excellent shower and high‑quality toiletries. We also appreciated the mini fridge with a small bottle of milk, plus tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The large flat‑screen TV and retro radio were nice touches too. It’s clear the rooms have been renovated to a high standard. Some older photos online don’t reflect the current look, so it’s worth checking the hotel’s website for updated images, especially since the property was previously a hostel. We ate in the pub on our first night, and despite it being a very busy Sunday evening, the manager reserved us a table. The food and service were excellent. The location is brilliant—just minutes from Paddington Underground, giving easy access across central London. The only downside is the rumble of the tube beneath the building, which might bother light sleepers, though it didn’t affect us much. We didn’t try breakfast, but it is available. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Every year I fly to London from California and need a place to get over jet lag for three or four nights before moving on. I have stayed at other Paddington area hotels for this purpose. I chose it because of the great price, the proximity to Paddington (basically you cross the street from the station and you are there!) and because I love staying in pub accommodation. Pride of Paddington did not disappoint. I wrote them that I would have heavy luggage, so they put me on the first floor so there were not so many steps to go up. My room (#2) was so cozy! Not tiny like many other rooms I have had in the area - a nice size for one person. Even though it was above a pub I did not hear street noise, though you can definitely hear the trains passing below. Comfortable bed, large clean bathroom, great staff downstairs. There are a couple of great Italian restaurants down the street with the nicest people working inside. Bizzaro was especially awesome. I loved staying here and will return for sure.

First—the good stuff: The roast potatoes were the absolute crispiest I’ve ever had and yet still soft and lovely inside. The pub is clean (I didn’t use the restroom so can’t comment on that) and the service is swift and friendly. I had the vegan Sunday roast. It was OK. The roast vegetables were absolutely the star of the meal. The mushroom Wellington was OK, but the pastry was a bit soggy and underdone. The Yorkshire pudding was also soggy on the bottom and rather tasteless. I would try this pub again, but I wouldn’t bother with the Sunday roast. Portions are certainly large. A big plus is that they have a screen from Paddington Station with the train information. And it’s not too loud.
