The location is ideal for theatres, art galleries and general sightseeing, and a couple of minutes walk from Charing Cross Station and various bus routes. Check in was very easy and as a Z Hotel member I was given a room upgrade which was very nice. I have stayed at many Z Hotels in London but it was my first visit to this one (apart from popping in for my wine and cheese when staying at Leicester Square when it was new and the cafe had not yet opened) . All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower worked well. There are pubs close by but I heard no noise and slept well in a comfortable bed. I couldn't fault it.

Z Hotel, conveniently located 300-400m from Charring Cross Station, and located near the Police station as a point of reference. The hotel is close to bars, shops, restaurants and only a short walk to all the playhouses in that area. The room we chose was small. We knew that upon booking, so only took a backpack each. Large suitcases would have been a nightmare. Rooms were clean, quiet and served our needs for closeness to the Theatre. Would stay there again, with backpack only!

We stayed at the Trafalgar Z Hotel and, while the location is absolutely fantastic, the room itself was a real let‑down. The space was extremely small — realistically suited to one person rather than two. The bathroom was a frosted‑glass cube inside the room, which didn’t offer much privacy. There was nowhere proper to hang clothes, just a couple of hangers on the wall, and no space at all for a large suitcase, so packing light is essential. We paid an extra £60 for a room with a window, but the window was tiny and didn’t make much difference. We were also told we couldn’t use our member benefits because we had booked through Booking.com, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the hotel was very clean and the staff were pleasant throughout our stay. The location really is the highlight — ideal for exploring the area. Overall, great spot and friendly staff, but the room design and size made the stay less comfortable than expected.

“Due to the horrific bed I wouldn’t return”

Positives- excellent price for central London. Lovely friendly staff. First room given was 001 just next to restaurant and outside lift which was far too noisy so they happily changed my room to 0014. Very clean and tidy, unusual bathroom but excellent shower. Positives- excellent price for central London. Lovely friendly staff. First room given was 001 just next to restaurant and outside lift which was far too noisy so they happily changed my room to 0014. Very clean and tidy, unusual bathroom but excellent shower. You wouldn’t want to share with anyone other than your spouse as you can see through frosted glass. TV- it was a smart tv but no Netflix app or way of playing Netflix. Still decent selection with Sky channels. Nice selection of hot drinks particularly liked the Harrogate coffee bags. Negative- and for me why I won’t return. Bed was so so hard, basically felt like I was sleeping on hard floor. I woke up with back and hip pain and slept really badly. I don’t mind a firm bed but this was extreme. And I don’t think it is proper pillows- looked like folded up duvets squeezed in pillowcases. For me I need a good bed and unfortunately I won’t return to Z Hotels and run the risk of pain/lack of sleep.
