“Pleasant and central”
It looks like a B&B, placed in an apartment very close to Gran Via and Royal Palace. Nicely refurbished and with a family-like reception. Room was spacious and air conditioning well placed. No frills but a reasonable choice with a conveniently close underground stop. Very kind landlady.

“Good for the price”
Quiet place and not expensive at all. Bathrooms are shared but they are always very clean. We loved it so much that decided to stay another night. Is walking distance from all the good places in Madrid like Plaza Mayor, Plaza del Sol, El Mercadillo de San Miguel, ect.

“basic but great base for a city break”
Admittedly it is not fancy but I found it to be clean, cool and completely adequate for our needs. We had a double room with a private bathroom which was directly opposite the reception so I was worried it might be noisy but we didn't hear anybody else while in the room.
