“Nice place ”

Perfect location, friendly staff. Rooms with bathroom are clean and comfortable, quiet place perfect for non demanding tourists. Most places worth to see are within walking distance. We would go there again.

I can recommend this hostel for budget tourists who don’t need any luxury, but would like to have a minimum privacy and comfort. + Reception 24 hour (and very friendly), so we have made late check-in without problem and for free (not as in other hotels of Madrid), but you should inform hostel about it in advance! + It is situated on the ground floor and it is like an apartment with two floors inside. All receptionists help with bringing of heavy suitcases (as the man so the girl). + Our room was clean, comfortable and functional and it was cleaned daily. There was enough light, a lot of places to put our things, 3 power sockets, mirror, TV (although we would prefer fridge instead of it) and air-condition which we didn’t use. The room had enough furniture but it wasn’t cramped. + The bathroom was redecorated recently and we liked the bath instead of curtain (as in other hotels when there is water anywhere after taking a shower). + The location is perfect: 10 min by foot from the city center, metro station and the stop of the airport bus (Cibeles), 15 min from railway station Atocha. + On the reception you can take a free map and some discounts for the tourist places of Madrid. Although it has some small defects. - There are no breakfasts in the hostel, but near there is a bar where you can find something. Unfortunately it is closed till 8:00 AM and we were able to have a breakfast there only once. We didn’t find a big variety of food and there was nobody who speaks English so we couldn’t ask for something else. - Breakfast's problem continued in the room where wasn’t a fridge, so we used balcony as the coldest place to put the products. - Our room was enough cold (in the middle of the March): the heating was turned on only at check-in day, later it wasn't during 5 days, although we tried to turn it on. There were only +7 C outside at night and it was difficult to heat the room during the warm sunny day. The cold air came also from the balcony door so we had to sleep with the closed shutters and in the morning get up in darkness. - The furniture and the door in our room were old and in one corner there was an unpleasant smell from the carpet. - We have found hairs on the bed linen (but it was clean at all) and the pillows were like bolsters (long and narrow) – it was not comfortable to sleep and useless to ask for another one, cause they probably were all the same. - Strange changing of towels – only once in 5 days and only of the big towels, other were folded and mixed and we couldn’t understand which is who’s. - There was no fon (but we always bring it with us) and shower gel wasn’t added every day. - Poor noise isolation – as between the rooms, as between room and corridor. - Only one receptionist speaks English and she worked only in the afternoon. As we were in the hostel mainly in the mornings and evenings, we had to use sign language. - Free wi-fi didn’t work well: we could send only text messages, sometimes with pictures. - Our room looked the congress' entrance so in the mornings it was a little bit noisy, but it wasn’t a problem for us, it was like an interesting performance! - There was no door hanger “don’t disturb”.

“Spacious room, great location”

We loved the room (for the 3 of us). It was very spacious and pleasant. The wifi signal was poor though, but that did not ruin our stay. The location is central and close to everything you need. The staff were helpful as well.

I've stayed at this hotel during the month of June, for 8 nights. It is located in a very safe area and it is literally steps behind Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and from there, across the street, Prado Museum. So the location is excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a bit of noise, even in the night, as the room was on the main floor, at the feet of the stairs to the upper floor(s) and right across the lobby located there. Wi-fi was great. It was certainly a great value choice in terms of accomodation, for Madrid.
