First time to Ipoh just for a gastronomical experience and the stay at the well located Weil Hotel is an obvious choice. The modern premier room was spacious and well stocked with amenities, nice! The only setback was the poor breakfast experience at their cafe. The variety and quality of the buffet spread is great and I enjoyed the food and the warm service rendered by the service team. However, lone diner like myself is likely to face the situation of the table being cleared and allocated to other guests when back from buffet counters. I had also witnessed similar incidents by other lone diners nearby throughout my 3 days stay. I have not experienced such unpleasant incidents elsewhere and I believed their service team somewhat had trained eyes for details or recognition of guests' faces etc to ascertain whether the table is really vacated and ready to be cleared for next guests or not. Apparently, the manager and his team at the cafe here has not reached this level yet which I strongly feel that it has to be improved. Generally, I still enjoyed the stay.

“Convenient Location with Good Service but Some Room Issues”

We stayed at WEIL Hotel for 5D4N (Jul 2026) in a Studio King room. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with a few areas that could be improved. The location is very convenient, being right next to the mall. There isn't a great deal in the mall itself, but getting around Ipoh is easy with Grab. We found most places for food and spa/ massages were just a short Grab ride away, and usually cost less than RM10 per trip. The breakfast was just average for us, so we ended up skipping it most days. What pleasantly surprised us, however, was the complimentary supper provided by the hotel. It was simple — usually porridge, green bean soup and soya bean drink — but it was a thoughtful touch and appreciated after a long day. Our main issue was the room. The soundproofing could definitely be improved, and the water flow in the bathroom was unfortunately very slow. We also happened to have a rather noisy neighbour who kept slamming their door, even after 10pm, which disturbed our rest. After two nights, we spoke to the hotel team and they kindly offered to move us to a Concept Room. The new room was slightly bigger and came with a living area and kitchen. We had initially chosen the Studio King because we knew we wouldn't really need the additional space, but we appreciated the hotel's effort to resolve the issue and make our stay more comfortable. Overall, WEIL is a decent and convenient choice for a stay in Ipoh. The location is good, Grab is easily available, and the hotel team was responsive when we raised our concerns. With better soundproofing and improved water pressure, the stay would have been even more enjoyable.
