Wow what a beautiful place. The resort is stunning, the staff friendly, hard working and courteous, the food was exemplary. If you want to relax and unwind then this is the place for you. I stayed in a sea villa, everything was perfectly adequate. The AC worked well, private veranda over the sea and a bath that you can laze in and stare at the sea through the open doors. The food was amazing, I did a full board meal plan and on this I could eat in any of the restaurants without having to pay any supplements. There was a drink included with every dinner (House wine, beer, cider or a soft drink). The food was delicious, Fishermans Cove was my favourite along with Uncle Lims and also Chapmans Bar for great fish and chips. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much for them, from being greeted by Jeff on Concierge to the hard working service staff with a special shout out to Mizen and Sakil. Would also like to mention Santosh, THT, Bayu and Sunil. I did my own transfer from KLIA by taxi ad this worked well, the resort provides the ferry crossing but to be sure you arrive in good time for the short speedboat trip. The journey is circa 4 hours from airport to Pangkot Laut resort office at the Marina. You check in here and your luggage is taken directly to your accomodation. I also visited the Spa and had a lovely Malyan full body massage, also included in the package. The resort was full whilst there however, there were still plenty of sunbeds and it was still tranquil and relaxing. Would I return? - Yes in an instant, loved this place. The scenery, serenity and the food and service. Thank you Pangkor Laut, exceptional and outstanding and I loved it.

Overall, the hospitality throughout the resort was outstanding. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing and memorable getaway. Being surrounded by nature while giving our child the opportunity to learn and explore made the trip truly worthwhile. The beach was peaceful and not overcrowded, providing the perfect environment to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Although the resort has been operating for more than 40 years, it is exceptionally well maintained. The rooms and facilities are clean, comfortable and in excellent condition. Our jungle walk guide, Fai, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and patiently answered every question we had, making the experience both enjoyable and educational for our child. Christian at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. He took the time to address all of my questions and concerns with great patience and professionalism. We would also like to commend Uncle Meges from the buffet restaurant. He was responsible, attentive, and always willing to help, which made our dining experience even more pleasant. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Pangkor Laut and Emerald Bay was fabulous and an easy drive from KL for a short quiet getaway. We liked the full-board package so we could fully enjoy the resort. Emerald Bay is very private and lovely. The room was luxurious though a little jaded and needs some refreshment, we hope they will do that. Nice wildlife around the resort too.

Stayed here for 3D2N under the Resident's Package in an overwater bungalow amongst the Sea Villas. Design of the hotel and room was nice, the emerald beaches and pools were beautiful, the omnipresent hornbills were cheeky but charming, the primary rainforest shady and lush. But being that close to nature I guess had its downside: mosquitos were everywhere and ravaged us every time we sat down to eat at any restaurant on site - the hotel provided repellant sprays and balms for bites, but one wonders why they didn't use any mosquito coils. Cleanliness of the room was subpar - first day we arrived, the bathtub had hairs in it. The entire room was dusty. It was hard to sleep at night with loud beach-club music thumping across the water from the main Pangkor Island across the water, late into midnight. Food was a pleasant surprise - meal and service at the Fisherman's Cove were excellent and far better than previous meals we'd had in Perak throughout our 5-day trip. Quality of other meals were also decent. But be warned: the hotel's "meal-inclusive" packages, such as the "Resident's Package" we bought, do not include meals at Fisherman's Cove, only at the other good-but-not-great eateries -- a detail they obfuscate when you make the booking. (The Package also claimed to include a Jungle Trek -- when we arrived, we were told it was for the free trek that everyone has access to, not the paid private one -- so I don't think it should have been listed as an inclusion.) Sunil and Mizan provided amazing, excellent 5-star service -- on par with world-class luxury hotels and michelin restaurants. They remembered our names & drinks orders from previous days, and were gracious and highly professional in their manner. Frankly, it compensated from the poor service experienced in other parts of the resort, which was far from 5-star standards. The concierge's service was probably the worst, bordering on dishonest. We were given different, conflicting excuses each day about the Sunset Cruise's availability, despite the signboard saying it was "Open" every day alongside other advertised activities. We asked on the first day if we could book it for the next evening, but was told "there's no availability". We asked how far in advance we were supposed to make reservations, since we were surprised it was already booked out >24 hours before. She then changed tune and said that no, actually, "the boat might not be available, we'll check and will let you know". Afternoon the next day, we followed up and checked on the availability again. This time her excuse changed: "We usually need a minimum of 4 people before the cruise can set out". I asked what the cutoff time was for finding 4 people, since this was new info to us. She said it was 4pm - then changed her mind and said "actually because of the petrol situation, the hotel is not running the cruise." ?!?! Wish she'd just told us from the get-go, instead of making new excuses each day.
