RM 172 per night for premium twin room without breakfast. Nothing fancy but very comfortable and adequate. Simple room with single beds, good air conditioning, kettle, hair dryer, television (no fridge), view of quiet side street. Good curtains that block out light. Bathroom clean, shower but no bath. WiFi adequate. Popular badminton courts are right inside the hotel and people play until late at night so if you are very sensitive to noise then maybe that could be irritating. Thai restaurant downstairs with delicious food. Separate Indonesian restaurant where breakfast is simple, a bit greasy, though adequately fills stomach (this is the restaurant where breakfast is served if room booking includes breakfast). Also a pharmacy downstairs which sells a few snacks and other essential items (as well as usual medicines and health care products). Did not find any supermarket nor convenience store anywhere nearby. Two family-type restaurants across the road, not expensive (very busy road, be sure to use zebra crossing). Walking distance to a few large hospitals. Mostly houses nearby. No apparent tourist attractions within walking distance. Carpark under hotel. Possible to get around by public bus, but bus stops are probably 10 minutes walk away. Probably most people use Grab. Communicated with hotel via WhatsApp number that was listed on their website. Booking only confirmed after paying non-refundable full cost of room via direct international transfer (which is the only option given). Receipt sent to me via WhatsApp. Efficient and polite service. Would stay there again because simple and comfortable. Would be perfect place to visit hospitals. Not the best choice of hotel if you want to be very close to attractions and restaurants.

“The best location for medical purpose”

We chose this hotel because it's just right at the opposite of Island Hospital, less than 5 minutes walk, which is very convenience if you go to Penang specifically for medical purpose. We chose this hotel because it's just right at the opposite of Island Hospital, less than 5 minutes walk, which is very convenience if you go to Penang specifically for medical purpose. We chose the double bed type. no fridge in the room, there are some hit and miss but overall good. The hotel also provide breakfast. The biggest downside is the position of the ac is right under the bed.

The rooms are spread out in the building and not that well sign-posted. When you get in, the beds are comfortable and pillows adequate. The other furnishings are basic but functional. Cleaniness is adequate. Breakfast is poor. The on-site restaurant is hit-and-miss. We ordered chicken chop and got fish and chips! It didn't seem worth arguing with the staff so we just ate it. There seems to be only 1 key per room, so it was slightly restrictive. For what you pay, it is OK as a place to sleep if you need to be in the area. Otherwise, try somewhere else.
