We stayed here 10 years ago and when we had the opportunity to come back to Ipoh, we wanted to stay here again. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the concept rooms. Our room was beautiful and we're very happy with the lounge access. We had family in other hotels and a couple moved out and moved into the Weil off of our recommendation. Pool area is relaxing and the scenery is outstanding. The staff are so so welcoming and friendly. We were lucky to interact with Fareema during most breakfasts. On mum's birthday we was surprised with a birthday cake and cheers. Such lovely personal touches we will remember for a long time. We will not hesitate to stay here again next time in Ipoh.

“Rooftop pool is a plus”

Great location. Large spacious room. Rooftop infinity pool was a highlight. Veero the pool manager was very helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend if staying in Ipoh.

You can also choose what kind of pillow you prefer . Complementary peanuts and soft drinks too. Checked out the Gastrobar at Rooftop - wow! Beautiful interior, very romantic. Excellent for couples . Panoramic view of Ipoh city . Nice manicured garden with ample seats . Infinity pool at the rooftop as well. Ordered small bites, mocktail and beer. Overall very satisfied with the stay, real5-star experience. Keep it up Weil Hotel. Except one little thing: a young chinese male chef who took over the egg station, cooked the omelette - but when we cut it open, the raw egg oozed out! Really ruined our appetite. Management need to retrain this young man to cook a very basic Spanish omellete to perfection. He rushed the process and didn’t cook properly. Other than that, the buffet spread was great, many choices from western to local. Tasty Ipoh White Coffee too! Will definitely come back Car park level 4 was complimentary as well. Easy to find parking space. Good bonus . Reception staff very prompt. No queues . Only thing to add is a night lounge with live band - that would be perfect .

WEIL Hotel has the advantage of an excellent location beside Ipoh Parade, comfortable rooms, and good food. Unfortunately, for a hotel commanding premium rates and positioning itself among Ipoh’s leading hotels, the service experience falls well short of expectations. Having travelled extensively and stayed at many internationally recognised hotels, I have learned that luxury is not measured by marble floors, stylish rooms, or impressive lobbies—it is measured by people. Great hospitality is about anticipation, empathy, ownership, and making every guest feel genuinely welcomed. This was where WEIL Hotel disappointed. The Front Office and Executive Lounge teams were courteous but lacked the attentiveness, initiative, and service mindset expected of a premium hotel. On several occasions, requests were met with responses such as, “We’re busy,” rather than finding solutions. There were also instances where repeated attempts to get the attention of the Front Desk went unanswered. Operational challenges should never become the guest’s experience. What made this even more apparent is that just across the road is Marriott International. Global hotel brands earn their reputations through decades of investment in service culture, staff development, consistency, and accountability. Luxury is ultimately defined by how guests are treated, not simply by the quality of the facilities. That said, one individual completely changed my impression of what WEIL Hotel is capable of delivering. A heartfelt thank you to Mathi, the Floor Manager at Tiffin Restaurant. He demonstrated exactly what genuine hospitality should look like. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion were exceptional. He took the initiative to explain the history of Ipoh’s famous white coffee and even shared how the traditional coffee-making equipment works. It wasn’t part of a scripted service—it was authentic, engaging, and memorable. Experiences like this are what guests remember long after they check out. The entire Tiffin Restaurant team also deserves recognition for their warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism. They consistently delivered the standard of hospitality expected from a premium hotel. WEIL Hotel has all the ingredients to become one of Ipoh’s finest hotels. The rooms are comfortable, the location is excellent, and the dining experience is commendable. However, until the service culture is consistently elevated across all guest-facing departments, it will struggle to compete with established international hospitality brands. I genuinely hope the management takes guest feedback seriously because improving service does not always require major investment—it begins with leadership, training, accountability, and empowering staff to care. When guests pay premium prices, they remember how they were made to feel more than anything else. WEIL Hotel has the potential. Now it needs the service culture to match.
