We booked three-bedroom grand ocean suite. They have everything provided. Master bedroom toilet was huge but there’s no bathtub. There’s kitchen, living room, balcony and two toilets. Four sofa in the living room and it’s really comfy. The pillows is cotton, not to my liking, slightly hard. It’s nice waking up to seaview and some hills. I stayed 10 nights at The Ocean Residence, initially booking a Superior Longhouse Double Room but upgrading to a smaller pool-access room because the energy felt better. The upgrade was worth it – direct access to the water, reliable housekeeping, daily water refill, and the presence of sweet cats that made the stay feel softer and more personal. The property itself is large and quiet, almost with a “lost place” atmosphere. The location is secluded, which means peace and silence – perfect for those who seek retreat. As an author, I found the stillness deeply inspiring and actually completed an entire book here. For that, I am truly grateful. What could be improved: several facilities clearly need maintenance. Furniture was worn, pool tiles broken (posing a safety risk), and the abandoned restaurant area gave off an unfinished impression. There is no on-site dining except for a microwave and water dispenser – something travelers should know in advance. Also, bathrooms would benefit from lidded bins as a thoughtful detail, especially for women. During my last days, demolition work began on part of the property. While I could still hold my own energy, the noise would be challenging for more sensitive guests. In summary: The Ocean Residence is not polished, but it does offer calm, sunsets, and space for those who know how to create their own sanctuary. With more care in maintenance and detail, this place could shine again.

We ended up here due to a last minute decision to go Langkawi without booking a place to stay. The resort looks like it has seen better days. The whole area is huge and there are several types of stay, we opted for longhouse type with the pool at our room’s doorstep. For those who are not fussy and prefer a quiet place to stay, this can be a great option for you. Not much amenities, services and the restaurant stopped operating for the time being. Many hotels and resorts took a bad hit from the pandemic and this might be the case for Ocean Residence.
