My stay started on a disappointing note, but Shinn from the Experience Team completely turned things around. He went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of and made the rest of my stay comfortable. His professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care truly made a difference. That said, the rooms are unfortunately in quite a poor state and could really benefit from significant maintenance and refurbishment. While the service from the team, especially Shinn, was excellent, the condition of the rooms does not reflect the overall guest experience one would expect.

I stayed at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 9–11 July 2026. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location. Being directly connected to Berjaya Times Square Mall and close to major attractions makes it very convenient for both shopping and sightseeing. The check-in experience was smooth and efficient. The front desk staff were friendly, courteous, and genuinely helpful, creating a positive first impression. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. The rooms feel very dated, with an ageing interior that is overdue for refurbishment. The room layout is poorly planned, with awkward placement of furniture and amenities, making the space feel less functional than expected for a hotel of this category. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The bathtub had leakage issues, causing the bathroom floor to remain constantly wet and slippery, creating a genuine safety concern. Although the hotel promptly changed my room, the replacement room had the same issue, suggesting that this is a recurring maintenance problem rather than an isolated case. The breakfast experience was average and below expectations for a hotel of this rating. Finding vegetarian options in Malaysia was appreciated, but the overall breakfast lacked variety and quality. The dining area became extremely crowded, and there were not enough staff members to manage the rush or provide efficient service. The ambience was chaotic and far from relaxing. The swimming pool also reflects the hotel’s age. The area feels tired, lacks appeal, and does not provide the enjoyable resort-like atmosphere one would expect. Overall Rating: 3/5 The hotel scores highly for its location and the professionalism of its staff. However, ageing rooms, poor bathroom maintenance, an underwhelming breakfast experience, and outdated leisure facilities significantly affect the overall stay. Unless the property undergoes substantial renovation and upgrades, I would consider other accommodation options in Kuala Lumpur for my next visit.
