We recently stayed at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur to celebrate our daughter’s 3rd birthday, and it turned out to be such a memorable and heartwarming experience for our family. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was truly exceptional. The team made us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. A special thank you to Hafiz Anuar and Rahim from the reception – they went above and beyond to make our celebration extra special. They kindly helped arrange a beautiful birthday decoration in our room, complete with a lovely birthday card. What really touched us was the thoughtful detail of writing “Happy 3rd Birthday” on the room mirror – such a simple yet meaningful gesture that made our daughter so happy. The housekeeping team also deserves praise. The room was always spotless, fresh, and very well maintained. Their consistency and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food at the hotel’s restaurant. There was a wide variety of choices, and everything we tried was delicious. It made dining there a pleasure for both adults and our little one. Overall, this stay was more than just a hotel visit, it was a beautiful family memory. Thank you to the entire team for making our daughter’s birthday celebration so special. We will definitely be back!

I revisited KL this year for some Rest and Relaxation and chose 4 different hotels, why i left this one to the end or even chose another hotel is beyond me, i've visited other hotels before and standards have seriously slipped. I arrived at the M.O KL about 1pm and my room was ready, I chose the Club corner park view room 2906, after arriving at the main reception originally being served by Maryem she escorted me to check-in at the Club lounge on floor 24 where the absolutely fantastic Mohana the Asst M.O club manager took over checking me in, she was friendly, polite and went through everything I needed to know about the Club and the rest of the hotel. i chose a late checkout but I didn't need it so she changed it to have 120 Ringgit as well as the 200 ringgit already on my account. I didn't do much around the hotel as I was a little poorly but was perfectly looked after, the club lounge was a great place to relax or just to get out of my room which was amazing, the only thing i didn't like about my room was no wash facilities on the actual bath so i didn't use it, all the shampoo and body wash was attached to the wall in the shower but it didn't detract from my stay. on my first night has the absolute pleasure to meet Adam Lim - Assistant director of rooms, we had a great chat for about 40 minutes and he had no interest in trying to get away. I only has breakfast on the last day as due to tablets i can't keep food down. All the staff in the Lounge were amazing, so friendly and during cocktail hours they didn't let anyone's glass go empty, the only thing that I missed was the free flowing Bollinger Champagne which has now sadly stopped in December 2025, this has been replaced by Paul Mass Sparkling wine/cava I think it's Spanish but its very nice. The wines were delicious and my main choice and great food made it for a good 3 hours stay there, watching the fountains outside from 24 floors up was amazing. There are so many staff who helped me as i kept getting lost but they took me to where I needed to go and not just pointed or showed the way, that service shows how proud they are to work there and also shows a great management team. Is it expensive to stay in a Club Room, well of course it's extra but it isn't expensive especially when you factor in all the benefits, 5 pieces of laundry per day including Dry Cleaning (The Hilton Petaling Jaya have stopped that benefit) , the club lounge, better appointed rooms etc..., . The night before leaving I met with Adam again and a few other staff who thanked me for my stay and gave me a Present , am I allowed to say what? oh go on because I'm still smiling.. the New MCFC (Manchester city football club) shirt for 26/27 Season, why? I've no idea but it must have been so hard for Adam as he is a Manchester United fan - but I do wish MUFC all the best for the coming season. Would I stay anywhere else in KL, no I wouldn't ever!!! From entering the hotel for the first time to leaving I've never been treated so well in any property ever and I've stayed in some great places. I hope the GM is incredibly proud of all his staff, im sure he is. I can't wait to see you all again, let in the year!!!! Thanks for all the things you do. Preston.

“Amazing”

I always enjoy staying in MO whenever i’m in KL. The staff was so helpful in managing our expectations especially Ahmad who attended to us during check in. He was so friendly and helpful. His recommendations are spot on, made me feel like a true local experience

“Poor Event Experience at MO”

Rooms are old and a little dated. The toilet was weirdly positioned and cramped. But the service was impecable. My main feedback here is with regards to the event we held with MO. My company speerheaded by myself ran a 800 pax event in their main ballroom 1. Food we went for multiple food tasting to get really good results. But during event day, quality was poor, serving was not on time and the gap in between the dishes was quite slow. 2. Event management, poor coordination with the company organizing team. With changes and conversation not in advance resulting to my entire event being late and delayed. 3. we order alcohol, but ended up were told that it was finish on event day, only to be told later on. that there was access and we had to go through re-consolidation for the alcohol to get waived off. Overall... im not going back, despite the measely 10% recovery fee they gave us.
