I spend like 8 hours at the airport only to have my second option of the day cancelled. I just wanted to leave at get to a hotel to relax, rest and try again the next day. I booked this hotel based on the pictures and distance from the airport. Really nothing else, since I was only gonna stay one night. I checked the review number and it was like 3.5 on google or whatever so I figured it was fine. As we got close to the place the neighbourhood go kinda sketchy. It was only like 4pm though so how bad can it be right? I realized I had been in the same area a couple days before checking out Market la Merced and it didn't seem to bad then. But the female uber driver told me she never comes to this area and told me not to go out at night. Honestly, I knew I was only staying one night so it didn't really bother me. But you can't help but notice the area surrounding the place. Then you get inside the hotel and find that the pictures were accurate, it's pretty nice. It was clearly remodeled or renovated and whoever did it, did a nice job. Getting stuck with an overnight in Mexico City isn't bad, I got a really cheap stay at this place. The positives, wifi worked just fine. Bed was fine. Shower and toilet were all fine and working well. No issues with electrical outlets in the small room. Great price and there was an Oxxo right on the corner so I was able to get some food delivered and buy some drinks. There's also reasonably priced drinks in the lobby, beer, water, sodas etc. There's a food menu, but I didn't order anything, the menu did have hot food. I dunno if this place has a kitchen or if they get the stuff from somewhere else. But it's available. It's also reasonably close to the airport, so you don't pay the prices the airport hotels want, I probably spent $10 on the uber each way, and saved at least $70-80 on the airport hotel prices. So even if you just have a really long layover at the right time of day, this place would make sense. The negatives, as someone wrote in another review the building is a bit of an echo chamber. I had essentially a windowless room. It had a window but it faced into the courtyard and I don't THINK it had any natural light, it was a little dark when I arrived and left though, so I could be wrong about that. But the other issue with that and thin walls is there was quite a bit of noise a couple times during the early evening. Didn't really bother me, but if you're a really light sleeper, I can guarantee this place will be a problem. Didn't bother me at all though. The room was also quite small, maybe because of the kind of room I reserved, I'm not sure. The styling of my room was in line with the pictures but the size wasn't. Again, fine for my 1 night, even a couple nights, but I wouldn't wanna spend 4-5 or a week here, between the noise, the size, the neighbourhood. It has a good elevator, which was clearly part of the renos, but even the room doors are equipped with regular key locks, so just don't lose the key and give it to the desk guy when you're going out. Also, probably helps here more than in more touristy hotels to speak at least a little spanish. Would I stay here again? I've had a few really long layovers with Aeromexico. In a case like that, I would totally stay here again assuming it was one of the cheaper options. Would I stay here if I was being a tourist for a week? No. There are better options in better areas for only a little bit more money. Lastly, this is just me speculating, so I stand to be corrected. This has a "love hotel" vibe to an extent. I stayed on a Sunday night, so really not a PRIME day for that. But staying here on a Friday/Saturday night could be very interesting with the amount of noise that can be heard. Also, while the area looks really rough, it's not as bad as it seems, I wouldn't really worry too much about safety if you're on the fence for a 1 night stay.
