Beautiful hotel. Staff goes above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience. Rooms very comfortable. Helpful concierge and bar staff made sure our drinks were never dry and music in evening was amazing

Miguel Angel was a great waiter he helped me carry my plate to my table cuz I have a cane and was super attentive made my breakfast that much better

Central located. Good breakfast buffet. Unfriendly staff and issues take a lot to be solved Air conditioning is bad in rooms and fails a lot plus the common areas is almost without air conditioning.

We spent 11 nights in a Junior Suite at the Barceló Reforma. While the hardware of the hotel is impressive, the service experience left much to be desired. Location and Room The location directly on Paseo de la Reforma is excellent. Public transport (bus and metro) is right at your doorstep, and several Ecobici bike stations are nearby. The historic center and the Opera House (Palacio de Bellas Artes) are within easy walking distance. Perfect for exploring the city. Our Junior Suite was very spacious, featuring a huge bathroom and a wonderful terrace with a stunning view. We were very satisfied with the room, and the daily housekeeping was consistently thorough and professional. Premium Lounge and Service Incident As we booked a Premium room, we had access to the Lounge on the 12th floor. The breakfast there is perfectly adequate, though the evening snacks were a bit underwhelming. While the service staff in the lounge were very attentive, we had a very unpleasant encounter on our 9th evening. Fernanda, the lady at the lounge reception, approached us in the middle of the room and accused us—loudly and quite rudely—of not having access and demanded we pay for its use. It took the intervention of the lounge service staff to calm her down and clarify that we were indeed entitled to be there, just as we had been for the previous eight days. Despite her mistake, she did not offer an apology. It is baffling how someone with such an unprofessional attitude is placed in a guest-facing role. Maintenance Issues and Management We experienced several technical issues during our stay: Water Supply: One morning, there was no running water for about two hours. Toilet Repair: On our final evening, we returned to find two technicians in our room attempting to fix the toilet. They initially failed and said it required a major repair the next day. The hotel’s first solution was for us to use the public restroom on the 9th floor—which is closed between 10 PM and 6 AM. This was an absurd suggestion. It took multiple requests before they finally agreed to let us use a neighboring room for the bathroom. A Bright Spot: We want to extend a huge thank you to Omar, the technician. He worked tirelessly to fix the issue that same night and succeeded. Unlike the staff on the phone, who were unhelpful and dismissive, Omar was professional and dedicated. Privacy Concerns One afternoon, while we were in our room, we heard a loud noise on the terrace, and the (non-locking) terrace door was briefly opened by window cleaners. We were surprised that management did not notify guests of these works in advance, which is standard practice in high-end hotels. Final Verdict Overall, we enjoyed the physical comforts of the hotel, but the service inconsistencies and the poor handling of complaints were disappointing. For our next trip, we will likely look into neighboring options like the Hilton or Le Méridien.
