The Bristol lies in the upmarket Zona Rosa, which seems to be as safe an area as you can get in Mexico's capital and is convenient for most parts of the city. It's not overloaded with character but is comfortable and my room was very spacious, although the sound proofing left something to be desired. The staff are efficient and helpful. Generally excellent value. The restaurant serves a good range of dishes for most of the day. There is space outside in warmer weather but if inside, watch the step! The are numerous other eateries in the area. For cheap eats, the Fonda Yucateca in Rio Lerma is friendly and does comida corrida for M$70.

When you stay some nights in the Hotel Bristol, you will notice, that this once was a great place. Whilst the staff is still very friendly and the rooms ar large and clean, you cannot help but notice that the hotel infrastructure has not been kept up to date for the last 40 to 50 years. When you stay some nights in the Hotel Bristol, you will notice, that this once was a great place. Whilst the staff is still very friendly and the rooms ar large and clean, you cannot help but notice that the hotel infrastructure has not been kept up to date for the last 40 to 50 years. They very much kept their mindset and effort to deliver a pleasant experience. And the location is great too. But it needs a little rework, i guess. Also: Please release the cardboard-people from the chairs in the dining room. They are a bit silly.

I've stayed at the Bristol since the early 1980s. On this stay I spent 2 nights @ $40 USD daily to enjoy the city after my business meetings concluded in the Alameda/Bellas Artes area. I was given a great 2 bed large room, well appointed and clean on a higher floor. The immediate neighborhood is surrounded by embassies and small shops and restaurants with landmarks nearby. The Reforma, the Angel monument and Chapultepec are nearby (as is Zona Rosa..tackier now than I remember). Front desk helps you get taxis/uber is easy to arrange. I look forward to staying here for the next 10 years when my trips permit.

This is a very well-located hotel in Cuauhtémoc, a lively and fun part of Mexico City. Many restaurants and bars, as well as sites like the Angel of Independence and Chapultapec Park, are within close proximity. It's a little dated, but the room was large, clean, and comfortable, and combined with price, it's a decent option if you need an affordable, suitable hotel room for a few nights in this appealing part of Mexico City.
