This is a perfectly serviceable hotel in a good location just a block off the Av. Paseo de la Reforma and about a 1 5 minute walk to either the Cuauhetmoc or Insurgentes metro stations. It's in a 1930s Colonial-style building that exudes a kind of faded old-world charm; the furnishings are somewhat tired and worn but the rooms are clean and well equipped and the beds comfortable. Both rooms we were in had a large sitting room area with a table and TV (and little more) attached. I found the service to be very good--the staff were on call most of the day and night and were particularly helpful when my son fell sick the night before our flight home and we had to extend our stay (albeit in a different room) by one night. The price was right too.

This little hotel is in an excellent and quiet location, not far from the Avenida Paseo de La Reforma (one block), close to excellent restaurants and a short Uber ride to the main museums and parks. It most have been grand in its hey day, as it has beautiful wood paneling in the lobby, Mexican tiles on the walls and stairwells, that harken back to the past of a more relaxed travel experience. A few large flower arrangements would have added to this elegance from the past Rooms - My room was nice, very clean, a bit dated but still 'nice' with a safe, large closet w shelves, desk, table and chairs. My bathroom was modern, clean, and well lit. Staff - The day staff was very nice and knew English, night staff not so fluent in English but with Google translator we managed. Yard - Hotel has 2 beautiful interior and exterior courtyards that you can chill out in, very relaxing. Restaurant - I only ate breakfast there which was acceptable, nothing extraordinary. They offered a typical breakfast menu: eggs, fruit, cereal, many types of juices, etc. The wait staff was excellent.

When we first arrived at night, the hotel seemed a bit off putting. Kind of deserted and the room was very drab. In the morning and over the following days, we grew to appreciate it. The room was large and nicely overlooked the courtyard. On the courtyard there was a very nice bar with tables on the grass lawn. Breakfast in the restaurant was fine altho’ I should say there were other very nice places fir breakfast nearby. The hotel was well situated and the staff was helpful.

This little hotel is charming, colonial, and very clean. Great location. However, the front desk staff is rude. They shamed me for having a dirty face towel! Claimed to wash it and that the stains stayed. We'll see what happens when I get home and wash it myself. The towel still smelled dirty. They charged me almost $400 pesos for the towel. Never have I ever experienced anything like that, and the level of shaming I got, while I found it amusing, like a Fawlty Towers sketch, still cost me almost $20 american. The food is meh and expensive, and with the enormous variety of great options within a 3-block radius, definitely not a necessity.
