This is a very basic but good hotel for anyone on a BUDGET who needs to be in this area of GDL. There are no real restaurants close by so it is good they have a decent free breakfast each morning 7 am to 11 am on site. The rooms are amazing well-appointed with everything you need and English speakers can get 20 good channels and many movies on the wide selection of cable channels. Great for a basic hotel. Good service and warm and friendly people. Get a room INSIDE and top floor to avoid street and traffic noises and the HALLS here can be noisy. Get in back!

I visited this hotel in June 2015. I read a few reviews, mostly favorable, and a few negatives. I have also lived in Guadalajara for quite sometime, so I can dispel some of the rumors. First, it is not a "motel de paso." It is a regular, basic hotel. The lobby is neat and clean. However, continuous pedestrian traffic go by the front door all day long. Also, there is an elevated overpass and understreet leading to the largest market, Mercado de Abastos, on the other side. My first suggestion: Ask for an interior room. I had #129, and I had no problem with the loud buses passing by. Others were not so fortunate. Other reviewers complained about the small elevator. As I think this hotel caters to short, one-night businessmen and women, The little elevator did not bother me, especially since the hotel is only 3 stories tall. Second suggestion: Don't count on the breakfast. There is a wonderful espresso machine, omelet maker, and waffle maker prominently displayed in the kitchen, none of which seem to have ever been used. The offerings are cereal, milk, juice, yogurt, sweat bread, and, if you are lucky, fruit. You will also have to wait around for the service person to serve you, and she limited me to one glass of juice. Third: eating establishments are scarce. Avoid the nighttime taco dealer next to the hotel. The food was not something to make you sick, just, well, bland and dry. There really aren't other places to eat, except take-out. Some other downfalls of the hotel were as followed--1) my room had a door which I mistook for a balcony or patio or some sort. It was really just a locked door to the HVAC units. Which yes, run all day long (I am used to the noise, so it wasn't really a bother). It was unnerving to know that someone had been in my room during my absence and left the HVAC room door open. 2) the water in the bathroom sink had a horrible odor. Horrible. 3) The television remote has no numbers, so its up to you and the TV powers that be what you are going to get to watch. Even the maintenance guy could not fix it. Now, on the upside, the front desk staff was excellent and professional, and the installations were very clean. The AC minisplit was superb. And despite what I had read, the internet was truly amazing. Downloaded several movies and videos and never had a single problem. Two handy suggestions: no matter how long you stay, you must re-key your room card every day after two pm. (something about their system). If your stay includes the paltry continental breakfast, you must pass by the front desk every morning for your breakfast pass. Lastly, the hotel will not hail cabs. During the day, it isn't too bad. At night, not so much. I would rely on UBER at night if you want a safe, clean, reliable alternative. All in all, a pretty decent place for a business stay or a stopover to your final destination.
