“Amazing 🙌🏻”

Amazing hotel. Location breathtaking. Beach is so beautiful perfect for couples who want a romantic setting. Waterpark our kids enjoyed to the fullest. Food was delicious. Entertainment was great for all ages. We love RIU hotels ❤️

“Family Vaca”

Overall the stay was good. The food at the buffet I give a 2 out of 10. They also need more workers in that area. There's no reason I had to wait for drinks because the server was busy cleaning and setting tables.

Staffs were great. Bar staffs were awesome. Food could be improved and day time entertainment could be improved compared. Rooms were clean. We stayed at Riu Dunamar this week and had a good experience. The weather was HOT which is expected for this time of year. We were worried about the sargasso in the ocean, but after some research, I found that this area (costa mujeres) typically has less of it. That is true! There was some that stayed on the beach and near the shallow waters, but once you get past it, it’s fine. We were always able to swim everyday with no issue. The pools are not much of a pool, more of a hot tub…you cannot really cool down in there at all. We ended up spending more time at the beach for that reason. The resort itself is very clean and updated. No vendors coming up to you constantly on the beach (which I experienced a lot in dominican republic). You will find iguanas running around, but they’re friendly and won’t bother you. The food is decent…it’s all inclusive food, so we didn’t come with super high expectations. The buffet has a good variety of cuisines and food options. For the vegetarians, there were good options at the buffet (I scored an impossible burger which is a rare find at all inclusives). The others restaurants lack in this area as their menus are quite small. I did find a lack of non dairy milk though (there was some soy milk). We had Mendiola as our server for several meals at the buffet and he was amazing! So kind, helpful, and efficient. We liked the Asian restaurant a lot. Probably the best restaurant there. They had lots of food variety and great tasting options. The Italian restaurant was not our favorite (but as an italian, I am particular when it comes to this cuisine). The pasta tasted like the regular buffet pasta, nothing special and the service was slow. Now for the bars. Tequila pool bar was our favourite. It was adults only so we enjoyed that space. The bartenders there were great! Luigy and Rene were always ready to take our next order and make something delicious. As an extra, we did not purchase any of the photos taken, however we enjoyed the presence of one of the photographers named Alex. He took some lovely photos, but he also made us feel so welcome at the resort! We loved chatting with him, and taking some photos. We never felt any pressure at all to purchase the photos which was nice, as many resorts are pushy with that. The entertainment was okay. There was not too much going on throughout the day. The evening shows were good, mostly dancing. The Michael Jackson was great as always. The rooms are decent. The beds and pillows are not the most comfortable, but again, it is a hotel.
