We stayed here for a total of 6 nights (4 + 2, with a short w/e break in between). The booking was made for us by the organisers of a conference being held at the Colegio de Sonora; and they knew what they were doing. Like the Lucerna in Tijuana, where we stayed a few years ago, this one is a well-designed, modern hotel, not much to look at from the outside, but comfortable and well-run (inside), with a pleasant outdoor pool + bar (water too chilly for me), and all necessary facilities, including a pretty good exercise room. The location - on the bank of the Río Sonora - is OK, though there are not many attractions within an easy walk; there's a mall with Liverpool dept store about 20 mins walk away across the river. The restaurant is not too fancy, but excellent: v. good breakfast (not, admittedly, cheap, but well worth it); and we had a coupe of very nice, simple dinners here too (tacos de arrachera, caldo de Tlalpan, etc.). Service is excellent. Our 4 + 2 night reservation came about because of unforeseen circ's elsewhere I was impressed how the complexities of the bill (which had to be shared between us and the Colegio de Sonora) were sorted by the front desk people, who, like everyone else in the hotel, knew their job. Only two trivial queries: one. morning, the exercise room wouldn't open as usual and, when I checked at the front desk, I was told 'they had lost the key' (if so, why not put a note to that effect on the door?); it was sorted later. And, as a lover of huevos revueltos (with slight vegetarian tendencies), I fail to see why the h. v. always had sausage, bacon, or some other extraneous (meat) substance stirred in with the eggs. Theer were plenty of other meaty dishes available - please give the veggie(-ish) breakfasters a break!

“A marble of hospitality”

It was home away from home since we arrived to the steps of the hotel entry. Jorge welcomed us and made sure we felt at home and cared for. He took immediately our luggage. It was home away from home since we arrived to the steps of the hotel entry. Jorge welcomed us and made sure we felt at home and cared for. He took immediately our luggage. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and very fast to get us quick to our room. The place is beautiful, clean, functional. The room excellent and the beds very comfortable. I loved the fragrance of the hotel and specially on the corridor leading to our room. The buffet is a delicious experience and the personnel very attentive. El Gerente stopped by and greeted us. We really love the place and we look forward to returning for a longer stay and this time with kids to enjoy the beautiful city of Hermosillo. Thank you for the hospitality of the Sonoran people.

“Great choice for HMO”

We enjoyed this hotel, and we hope to return soon. Is there room for improvement? Sure. We booked the "Lucerna Select" floor, and were not disappointed. The room was older, but well kept, and adequately provisioned. The carpet could have been cleaner, as our socks turned dark when we walked on it.… more

We enjoyed this hotel, and we hope to return soon. Is there room for improvement? Sure. We booked the "Lucerna Select" floor, and were not disappointed. The room was older, but well kept, and adequately provisioned. The carpet could have been cleaner, as our socks turned dark when we walked on it. The bed was AMAZINGLY comfortable. We booked massages, but were disappointed when the masseuse had to reschedule to a time that was not possible for us. Breakfast was an absolute highlight. The Select floor has a modest lounge with breakfast, but for 80 pesos per person, one can upgrade to the full buffet downstairs, which we did. The spread was amazing. Tamales, pozole, chilaquiles as well as a meat dish or two, fruit, bread and pastries. Pedro in the restaurant was definitely a great ambassador. We enjoyed his tips and advice, as well as his absolutely professional position and demeanor!
