“Great Staff Loud Traffic”

I just stayed here last week. I drove a rental car 4 hours to this hotel from El Tajin. There is a parking garage behind the hotel which was not common to find at the other hotels I stayed at. I made reservations through Best Western but when I arrived the staff was not expecting me and they did not find me in their records. They had to call Best Western and verify my info which took about 30 or so minutes. There is a restaurant on site that offers room service and free breakfast in the morning. I do remember the street traffic was loud and could be heard in the room, if you can get a room away from the street you should. Also, very little English was known by the staff so using google translate on a smartphone was required to communicate.

This hotel is an excellent choice if you arrive to Xalapa by bus (which most people do) because it is located just across the street. The hotel is nice and small. It has a little restaurant. Rooms are small and clean. On weekend nights it can get a little noisy because there is a music bar on the back street. The ladies at the front desk are not very friendly or cooperative, but everything else is fine. The breakfast buffet is great!!!

We thouroghly enjoyed our stay, which was our first visit to Mexico. The front desk staff, despite the language barrier, was friendly and helpful( I will take a Spanish course before my next trip for my own benefit). Our room was a good sized king suite and very clean. The location is near the transit station which was convenient for trips around town as well as to the airport. This is a place I would visit again without hesitation!

“Friendly, clean, safe budget hotel”

This hotel is ideally located just opposite the bus station. If you arrive to Xalapa by bus just walk outside of the terminal turn right and you will see the BW across the street. This hotel is ideally located just opposite the bus station. If you arrive to Xalapa by bus just walk outside of the terminal turn right and you will see the BW across the street. (watch for the traffic when you cross). Certainly, it is not a full service first class house like some of BW in the US. The rooms are small, no tv, no a/c or bathtub, but it is friendly, very clean, safe and conveniently located to visit Xalapa, and easily bookable via Internet. So if you are not on a romantic getaway, but on short sightseeing trip, in is the best choice. Xalapa is a strange place, some travellers love it, some hate it, but it definitely deserves a detour, so come and judge for yourself. Tipp: discount is given if you show your ADO bus ticket.

“OK”

Good value for money. Yet, rooms were dark (little light) and with dark carpet, which makes the rooms even darker and not that attractive. Rooms are also small but clean. However there are plenty of TV channels, bathroom is ok, breakfast is ok too, and location is pretty decent
