We chose this hotel as we had visited Tetouan previously and liked the central location. I must admit we were not expecting too much as the price we had paid including breakfast was really not that much when considering its location, month of stay and prices of other comparable hotels in the same area. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel reception area was bright and airy, the "bell boy" was friendly and the greeting we received from the staff at the check in desk was excellent. In particular we were impressed by Dima who was so happy to welcome us, speaking great English and making us feel that we had arrived somewhere worth staying. Check in was done in a flash and everything explained to us clearly and before we knew it we were in our room. The room was again bright and airy, with a nice coffee machine and pods, kettle etc . The huge shower was great, as was the bed, really comfortable and quality bed linen.We slept like logs and arose the next morning to have a good breakfast downstairs in the restaurant. All the foods on offer at the buffet were of a high quality and included, eggs, meats, cheese, moroccan breads, yoghurt, juices, pan au chocolate, cereals. Again the coffee was provided by a flashy Nespresso machine, with 4 or 5 different pods to choose from. Excellent breakfast. As we were only staying for the one night we went to check out and was again served by the ever so lovely and efficient Dima, together with her colleague Wassima. We had a great chat to them both and learnt a lot from them about Morocco and Tetouan. What astounded us most though was when Dima said that she was only a trainee! I thought that she had a position of some authority given how confident and efficiently she dealt with us and the other guests.I base this opinion when I compare our staff interactions at the Soho Boutique with another hotel nearby Al Mandari who had one female member of staff on reception who was more interested in her phone than in helping me with a problem that had arise. She could certainly benefit from shadowing Dima and Wassima and learning how to make guests feel valued. Thank you Dima and Soho Boutique for a great stay.

This lovely hotel in a very central position in Tetouan deserves a 5 star rating but falls short because of some trivial reasons that could be easily remedied. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room with a Nespresso machine, fantastic, but unfortunately the hotel policy is to not replace the coffee pods of tea bags or water. So if you stay for more than one night no more coffee pods, water or teabags for you !! We stayed for 4 nights. As I said to the staff on reception “if someone else went in the room they would get everything so what’s the difference“. The sound insulation between rooms is poor so don’t be surprised to be woken by a neighbour’s alarm at 6:30 am. Good hotel management should know when occupancy is low and space the rooms out, it costs nothing but gives guests a better experience. The positives, We booked a room with a lounge and it was fabulous, a large bed (very firm) and a beautiful seating area. Lots of space but unfortunately a tiny bathroom. The bathroom has a sink toilet and shower cubicle, the shower is equipped with a rain shower, unfortunately the cubicle is so tiny there is no room to bend down and the sliding screen entrance is very narrow. Too late now a poor design error. The room was immaculately clean, bed changed every day and everything left spotless. 5 stars all the way. All the staff in the hotel were great and helpful in every way possible. We will definitely stay here again and bring our own coffee, tea and water, if their unfortunate no replacement policy after one night continues.
